A small thing but it’s often the small things that make you appreciate someone has gone and things have changed. My mum knew this and after dad died tried to prepare herself for when she saw his slippers; or the empty chair that he used to sit in. But as usual it was the unexpected that got to her - the first letter addressed solely to her rather than “Mr and Mrs.”
