Many of you will have seen that proposals for reform to football were included in His Majesty's speech today. Some further detail is on our website, and we will keep everyone up to date as the process unfolds.

Yes, well done all. Hopefully this will have teeth. Then again, the Premier League will get its lawyers all over it.
Possibly, but as I understand it they have been given plenty of time to sort themselves out and failed. And have been consulted. They may have not given it the attention it deserved. Even a change of government will not derail this , it has cross party support.

And as the BST article says ........... well done all Blackpool Fans that boycotted, protested and signed petitions. We were ahead of the curve on this and played no small part.

It's a massive achievement. People can disagree about the effectiveness or the focus of a regulator but no one can deny that getting legislation from outside parliament into the Kings speech is a monumental task and on that level alone you have to doff your cap to the achievement.

All except the Mushrooms! 😉🍄🍄🍄

Yes. Lots of hard work that maybe seemed fatuous at the time but which has achieved a positive result. Well done everyone who contributed.

The Blackpool campaign and the evidence we were able to give to the Fan Led Review panel was one of the main drivers of these changes (confirmed to me by the Government lawyer who oversaw the review). Every Blackpool fan that contributed in any way should feel very proud tonight. We are a football community that stood together and refused to give in and we have helped to change football for the better. 🧡

Absolutely brilliant effort. Many hard yards. Sadly, it is unlikely that it will get enacted in this term of parliament, but getting it on the table is amazing, a nd it will happen.

Hats off

And it‘s the only thing in the Government‘s agenda that is worth talking about

Fan/people power works — as people United you can achieve much and clear out the dross in Society

Wishing all fans good luck with their protests and KEEP football for ALL — far to many being priced out

Cross party support for this, so it's on its way, its just a case of when now. Even if ultimately the watchdog doesn't have huge bite this still takes power from the authorities that have failed to act. It also takes some much needed steps to make clubs more accountable to the fans. Not before time and as said above, all Blackpool fans who did something to help during the boycott have by their actions helped this happen.

Maybe this will finally stop Sadler charging £30 for home games in League 1.............................

Well done to BST for their involvement in this. Let’s hope it is recognised by all - they’ve come in for some unnecessary flack recently when their true heart is Blackpool and the game.

I only hope when this finally happens that the legislator is truly independent and not in the pockets of anyone with personal interest in an individual club or league.

I hasten to add well done everyone who has had any part , however small, in bringing this about.

Well done to all concerned, you can see a lot has gone into this. But will it really change anything? Big clubs will still do what they want.

A fantastic moment. But at least eighteen months of very hard work lies ahead to turn this into a new, fully operational way of working. The person appointed to run the shadow body has a big job to do.
