Knife attack in Glasgow

Happened at a hotel housing asylum seekers.

One of the seriously injured was a policeman.

Getting all too common these days.

RIP those who may have tragically died and thoughts with yet another Police officer just doing his job.

Just watched the 6pm news and no reports of any deaths thank God but several are in a critical condition including the Policeman.

These are awful times. So many of the threads that hold society together are at breaking point, with nasty people freely making hay with violently insulting comments on social media. The general public, in large swathes, neither seem to care about our duty to each other or about the risks to themselves in several hedonistic orgies of self-indulgence. I don't tag this onto any political or philosophical thread about what the country should expect from our leaders. The root of all this is more about what we should expect from ourselves.

Can’t agree more 1966, society is falling apart at the moment with a minority who clearly don’t give a flying fcuk about anybody or anything. These are very sad and disturb times indeed!

Even though I am critical on aspects of the police in this country, even though I was one, I wouldn't do that job now if they paid me £200k a year. It's thankless, stress filled and violent. They do a magnificent job on the whole and it is usually only the wrong 'uns who we hear about, there are officers putting their life on the line every day to protect us, same as NHS, Fire Brigade etc.,

It's a sad old world we live in with some horrible people.

Society will be fine when 98% are normal hard working people.

Don't panic. The police are only as effective as their Lords and Masters. And right now, whilst London burns and they have NOTHING from the government other than deflection tactics from Downing Street nobody in their right mind would want to be a police person.
