I know many on here won't entertain the idea of us signing Fleetwood players, but Dempsey is out of contract at Cods and exactly the sort of creative player we need in midfield. Fell out with Barton (shock) and was loaned to Peterborough who were above them in the league at the time, which should tell you all you need to know!

He's 24, which seems to be our 'go to' age for Critch to develop. Nearly 200 league games which for someone that age is terrific.
 
He signed a 3 year deal with Fleetwood so you'd imagine he lives somewhat locally, he could be easier convinced to come here than most clubs as it'd mean he wouldn't have to relocate

It does seem a nice and easy opportunity, no transfer fee for a 24 year old who has made nearly 200 appearances (most being at League One level). The fall out with Barton is probably the reason for not signing a new contract, rather than a lack of ability.

You can picture the last minute winner he'll score against Fleetwood now 😉
 
If it’s a free transfer I’d definitely go in for him, seems a decent enough player and low risk if signed on a free, a few of my friends who are fleetwood fans seem to rate him quite well

Dempsey's a decent player by all accounts. Do we need him though? We've got 3 supposedly creative central "number 10" type players in Kaikai, Keshi and Sarkic. I reckon we need options to play a bit deeper alongside/instead of Virtue. Not sure where Dempsey normally lines up?

If he’s out of contract it’s none of their business ...

Seemed a good player at Carlisle (was considered better than Potts at the time...) but doesn’t quite seem to have nailed down a place at Huddersfield, Flotweed or Posh. Might be worth a look 👀

🤦‍♂️ Didn't read the thread properly, was thinking he was still under contract.
 
He owns a house on the new estate on midgeland road. I did some work for him when he was injured sat playing FIFA all day. Seems a nice enough lad
 
Definately good enough for league one, better than Jordan Thompson very similar style. Not sure you're information is right about him being available !?!
 
Swansea, Derby and other Championship clubs all linked with him earlier in the season - he's likely not going to be short of offers. But i'd be very happy if he were to sign for us. Not seen any real rumours as such though other than this thread.
 
I thought he was trying to get a new deal at the Cods. The Cods have shafted us twice with Matt and Ryan though. To me would not be a bad signing on a free.
 
Free signing, offer him a lower wage to stay local.

I’d be quite happy with it tbh
 
Didn't say it was a rumour, just wanted to put it in the world and hope it somehow comes to be...

Last time I did this with any success was Marc Bola (the return), which didn't work out so well. 🤣
 
He’s just a 100 mile an hour energy player. Good engine and all that but not really good enough if we have ambitions of playing through midfield.
 
Can’t be any worse than Thompson surely?prima-donna at its purest,spent more time on his backside moaning.
 
I remember the cods reaction to when he was loaned out, they weren’t happy at all. Seems like a decent player at this level who would do a job for us.

I appreciate that it is not the main focus of your post but the idea that we should not trade with Fleetwood is silly. We should trade with all clubs that are trading legally and honourably - yes, including the knobbers.
 
Great OP.

KD is a class act and Joey must be off his mind to let him go.. on the few occasions I have seen him he has invariably been MOM. Id have him for BFC in a heartbeat. I bet Mr Crichley could improve him yet further as well.
 
Really hope we’re looking at this lad, would be a great addition to our (lack of) midfield.

Must be local too
 
I have no problem in signing Fleetwood players, Jimmy Ryan was ok. The question I would ask is why they are releeasing this guy if he supposed 5o be that good?
