Lack of streams

So. After all the preseason games we’re streamed last season absolutely NONE streamed this season.

A cost cutting exercise? Trying to make fans actually go to get some money through the turnstiles? I know in the grand scheme of things it seems a churlish thing to moan about. I would’ve gone to Barrow if not for the train strike, and there are a lot of exiled fans who’d quite like to have seen a game or two this preseason

Ive watched the Barrow and Morecambe full match replays on TTV. Got my £2 worth.
So presumably the answer is that a live stream of the match is a more challenging task that requires 2+ people, whereas a replay can be handled by just one.

Would be nice to find out. I’d happily pay a fiver (as someone who lives outside the UK). And if they’re being filmed for replay, surely there’s no additional cost in streaming them?

I reckon clubs have simply decided to maximise gate revenue. Barrow and Morecambe both made good and much needed money from our games which attracted quite a few Pool fans. It costs money to show games live inline and possibly not worth it as people wont pay much to watch a friendly. I was happy to see a replay within 24 hours at no additional cost on top of the £2 subscription.

Plus the cost of commentators as Radio Lancs don't cover every friendly if they have done any at all this pre season.
Last season at Southport Chizzy did the match.

I was going to go today, but I've woke up with the dreaded Covid so couldn't. I would have paid £5 to watch it on a stream or they could have put it on Tangerine TV and got a few more subscribers, seems silly to not have any way to watch it at all.

Bang on, if it was about revenue or getting people to go in person they could just make people pay a fee to watch, or not announce the stream until 30 minutes before kickoff.

The fact that they’ve streamed every pre season game the past 3 seasons and now all of a sudden don’t is bizarre.

Not the end of the world though.

It’s yet another indication that we are not cash rich..there seems to be a lot of cost cutting and very little communication and engagement with the fan base…unfortunately I think it will be a long hard season if we don’t get a few more quality players in

They could habe made a lot more money streaming, if announced relatively late in the day.
