Lammy

😂 I do wonder how many posters knew those comments were factually incorrect before they were told by arch Tory Andrew Neil?

But yes. Churchill became PM after WW2 had started. Which sort of reinforces Lammy’s point that war is not a reason not to replace a PM. In fact I seem to remember Major replaced Thatcher on the eve or at the start of the First Iraq War.

And yes. Lloyd George became PM about a month after the Battle of the Somme ended. Blimey what a gaffe by Lammy.

And yes Eden was still PM after the Suez crisis had ended. But there’s little doubt it did for his premiership.

But the overall point Lammy was making is ….. there’s always a replacement. Which is undoubtedly true.

....and with his track record, Im sure there will be one for him.

Now that I agree with.

A bit like a PM knowing whether or not the function(s) he’d attended were in breach of the restrictions he’d brought in.
Would you have mentioned it if a Lib Dem had pulled him up on it Mex ?

Twisting what?

Lammy’s made minor factual errors over historical incidents that occurred many years ago.

Johnson claims he’s made a few factual errors over laws he introduced very recently.

Seems perfectly fair to compare the two and ask…..which is the most significant?

It’d also be fair to ask….is Lammygate a deliberate distraction from partygate?

I went into Curry's last night and walked out with a 72" TV. When stopped by the police, I pointed out that there was a war going on in Ukraine and that we needed to focus on what's important and move on.

Obviously, they agreed and helped me load the TV into the car.
