Lancashire Cup today.

Pool are playing Everton away today in the quarter finals of the Lancashire Cup.
The Cup itself must be one of the biggest in existence. (I saw it a couple of weeks ago in the National Football Museum)
It's behind closed doors I believe (as was the Fleetwood game) but there's nothing from the Club yet about the possibility of it being streamed but that's probably down to Everton anyway.
It should give an opportunity for the likes of Casey to get some game time and the young pros out on loan are eligible.
It will be interesting to see if Ellis Simms features for Everton. (He's only made the first team squad once, I think, and not recently).

As I'm tuck in the house with Covid this would be immense if it was being streamed
I’ve held that cup up it’s massive and very heavy.

We had the late great Billy Ayre over at Warton many moons ago for a sports evening and meet the players at the Lightning club, Billy brought it along as they had just won it that year as I recall early 90’s.

Got some great photo’s of Billy and the players on the night many I gave back to BAES on my retirement to put up in our new sports centre.

We even had the Gazette there reporting on the night. 👍

What a bummer that it's behind closed doors.
I wonder what the rationale for that is. Do you know Insider - is it because trialists are playing?

I'm wondering lots of things but it's all top secret. I bet they don't get many sponsors.

Brilliant - thanks D_L
Perhaps because they were playing trialists, that's the reason for the secrecy!
A shame we couldn't see it, but well done BFC & hopefully the trialist(s) impressed Critch.

If he was GJ - he's a twonk, as I was going to winde our grandsons headteacher (Toffees ST holder) up at the school gate tomorrow.
I can't find the score anywhere & I think Insider would have been on by now if he knows ;)
Can't find it either pal, but think that the trialist name (A. BROWNE), might be a dig at that lot down the road.

From Scrafton’s Twitter page - Blackpool won 2-0, CJ Hamilton scoring on his return from injury. Youth team trialist got the other. Believe Stuart Moore, Dujon Sterling and Owen Dale were among those to play. Majority involved were youngsters though.

Yes CJ, still think he can be a big asset for us.

He wasn't right before he had that screw removed.

Critch said it and believes in him.

We've seen what he can do on his day.

Even if this setback prevents CJ from reaching his full potential, he’s still excellent value as somebody to come on for the last twenty minutes and terrorise tired legs

He's apparently feeling much better and the discomfort he was getting, its hard to say how much that affected him but stepping up and having an issue with your foot isn't great.

He can cause anyone an issue over the top.

Always interesting when trialists play.

It looks to me like there was 2?
