Right, so can't abide the Nobbers, Cods, t"Rovers, Dingles or Accy ..

.. however I've always had a soft spot for Morecambe.

Old Boltonians... simply because they have the honour of playing on the oldest football pitch in the world in Chapeltown.

Edit to say: Old Boltonians have had a fair few opportunities to sell off their Chapeltown pitch for development over the years, in fact there are new houses all around it. It’s in the middle of the village opposite the Chetham Arms so prime location. But they recognise its historic value in owning and maintaining it for football at whatever level.

For me it has to be Bolton Wanderers. The club, not the supporters. WHY you ask!

I was born there, My Grandad and Dad were both born and brought up as Wanderers fans although my Dad ended his days supporting the Pool.

So I make no apologies, and always have looked for their results.

As for the supporters, I have no time for idiots, that said there are some who are like any other supporter, wanting to see their team win and enjoy a bit of banter.

I LIKE the non league stuff on BBC LANCS . so i am going to go with CHORLEY . IF you had to put me down for one team. they have had some good cup runs or was it quite recent. And their ex manager has just come back as chairperson.

Burnley. I went to 6th form in Clitheroe during the 4th Div days, them and us battling to get out of the league. I loved going to Turf Moor with 18k there, made loads of good mates at school who were Claret mad and they respected Billy Ayre's tough and attacking Pool side.

Oldham Athletic.
Lived there for a time with wife No.1, who was from Oldham
Went to Boundary Park a few times.
Daughter was born in Boundary Park Hospital.
Had a few customers in Oldham when i was a company representative made some good friends ,always felt sorry for the shite owners they had over the years ,prob suffered as much as us or even worse seemed like they had new owners every year ,hope they come back up fairly soon ,never met anyone in Oldham i could say i did not like calling on.

Bury FC is back playing at Gigg Lane this coming Saturday 29th July. For the first time since 2019.
Even if it is in the North West Counties Football League, which is level 9 of the football pyramid. The only way is up.

I might wander on down, should be a good crowd. Something to appreciate before our season starts.
They are playing Glossop North End. Good to see any Nobbers beaten.🙂

Great to see them playing at Gigg lane - and not bulldozed down for housing development 👍

Don't mind Burnley. Always got on with the Burnley lads I've known, always been pretty decent chaps.

Bury for me too. Dad played at the Gigg for Bury Boys, took us to a few games there when we were kids. Such a sad story what happened to them. I wish them top speed to get back in the EFL.

Wigan are the one I least dislike because let’s face it, it is and always will be a rugby league town. And you have a pint or two in the town centre with no hassle after the game
