Lancaster Seasiders?

I’ve been in Lancaster 5/6 years now and tbh I’m yet to properly chat to another Seasider !! I’ve no idea of any pubs which will be showing it either as the most of the ones here with live football are terrible !
I live in Bowerham though and really hope the Bowerham hotel has it on 🤞

That being said I’ve got SKY and as the pub hasn’t been open for months I may well let the local day drinkers clean whatever’s left in the pipes before I drink from their again 😂

I watched both the Forest and Birmingham away legs in the Greaves Hotel as I was living nearby at the time. Sadly the place is no more, but the Fox and Goose or Boot and Shoe used to attract a contingent of Seasiders

The Greaves is still open... albeit more restaurant than pub. The fox and goose is hidden around Hala way isn’t it ? And the Boot and Shoe is more like a hungry horse type of place now so I doubt it will have the footy on

Sorry LA1 I was referring to the Greaves Hotel on Scotforth Road, not Greaves Park restaurant.
Not been in the Boot for ages.
Wonder if Pendle Witch, Crafty Scholar or Sun Hotel might have it on. Not sure of their plans next week, but I'd like to join any Lancaster tangerines in town, should there be a chance.

I’m gonna try find a pub with it on. If I stay at home and watch I’ve got to deal with the partner and kid complaining and talking and generally ruining my day !
I’ll do a bit of research and update on here. I’d quite like to watch it with other pool fans too.

I lived and worked in Lancaster in the mid to late 70s. The pubs were a treat, two local breweries, Mitchell's and Yates and Jackson's. The Bowerham used to have live bands, The White Cross was where I used to stagger out on a Friday and Saturday night. Top! Anyway, there used to be a sizeable contingent of Pool fans there, running a coach to most home matches.

Cheers all - rang Boot and Shoe, they've not got it on. Park Hotel on Oswald St say they do have Sky sports but will find out tomorrow if the regulations allow matches to be shown so that will probably apply to all pubs, said to ring tomorrow.
Been here 4 months and don't know any 'Pool here yet, definitely like to join fellow Lancaster Seasiders if its on, got to be surrounded by tangerine for a playoff game!

I regularly stagger home from the white cross tbf. It’s probably more restauranty than at was in the 70’s though !
I’d recommend a trip over the Lancaster Brewery if ever you get chance (down where the leisure park / Hornsea pottery is)

What brought you to Lancaster ?

There are plenty of Blackpool supporters in the area, most of indigenous Lancastrians. For the second leg, I am watching in Kendal. There will be 4 of us, but in the Covid police world not saying where!

I'm in Lancaster but I probs will watch at home as I will get in from work about 3 mins b4 kick off.

If I spot that it's on anywhere, I'll put it on here.

Golden lion sometimes has slightly more obscure sport on. Good spot for a bit of the test match and great pub.

Can't think of anywhere especially tangerine. Recently, I got complimented on my facemask in home bargains and I exchanged an 'up the Pool' with a lad walking round the headland at Sunderland point as he had a scarf on but I don't think that helps does it?

My local in Thornton (Sandyforth Arms) will have the Pool match on along with any other games, has about 6 or 7 big T V screens Sky/BT so everyone gets to watch what they want.
I just hope it opens on Monday as it’s not opened it’s doors yet since restrictions were eased.
From the sounds of it I’ll be like a few others on here looking for a pub in Bowness/Windermere Tuesday and Friday. 😳

There opening all 155 pubs of the Amber Taverns chain on Monday and Sandyforth is one of them. 👍

When we had an organised supporters club, we had a membership of around 150. We took a mini bus and sometimes a coach to all away games. Last time we watched a live game in numbers, it was at The Crafty Scholar. A few of us around Heysham, watch games at the Strawberry Gardens.
Went to many games with the North lancs crew. Remember going to Sheffield utd in the cup. Mini bus broke down around 10 miles from Sheffield. We missed the game 😪

Lived in Lancaster until covid came along, watched a few pool games in town. Either the Crafty Scholar or Hogarths are the biggest sports showing pubs in town with lots of screens.

Never ran into any fellow pool fans. Decent place to live, lived opposite the White Cross definately worth a visit!

Crafty Scholar is your best bet- never seen a TV in the Sun

Up the mighty 💖💖

That's very random meeting a Pool fan at Sunderland Point!

Just a quick question if I may! I've never been up to Sunderland Point, but hoping to go in the summer some time. I know it is dependent on tidal access but how long does it last when it gets cut off?

My son, a Blackpool season ticket holder, lives in Overton, half a mile away from Sunderland Point.
The road is flooded maximum 3 hours, depending on the tides height, but sometime only half an hour. I believe tides over 5m are classed as high.

My neighbours having a new roof and they’ve just put scaffolding up.... and Sky’s gone sketchy. I’m 100% going to the pub on Tuesday now as I’m not risking a crap picture. Tell me where fellow Lancaster Seasiders and I’ll be there. If we score first there’s a round on me*

*crisps (nuts not included)

Thanks LA1, I´ll do that next time I´m over. UTP!

Good stuff! Definitely going to a pub Tuesday once I’ve found one with it on. Can’t get through to Crafty Scholar or Park so far, will keep at it

Right, Crafty Scholar is on, definitely got game on. Getting full so put a booking in for a live sport table in front of a screen. Wasn’t sure how many thought there might be possibly a couple from this thread so booked for 4 and we can go from there. PM me if interested and I’ll send you the booking details. Had to pay tenner deposit so there’s a round on me waiting! Cheers UTMP

Fly down to Spain and watch it with me on TV with a load of San Miguel 😁.

As a kid there was a service bus from Blackpool to Lancaster about 5.45. The driver had a cup of tea in Garstang and back to Lancaster around 7.45. I then had the 8.50 bus to Ingleton (no 581). Got home for match of the day and that was a home game. Reg Bibbys coach from Carnforth was brilliant.
