Last Night's Referee

Who was the referee last night? Was down as Dean Whitestone but looked more like the fourth official Jeremy Simpson

The penalty decision and the non foul on the keeper could have gone the other way. Everything just seemed to go our way in that first half (well apart from them getting away with their elbowing) for a change.

I think the ref favoured the attacking side consistently throughout the game. QPR got the benefit of several decisions in the 2nd half when they had the majority of the possession in a few spells.

Was definitely Jezza Simpson.
He was the PE teacher at my lads school before he moved to reffing full time.
Usually gives us nothing.

I used to play football with Jez at Carnforth Rangers, hard to believe he was a goalie, not the best tbh, far too small. Always easy to be critical of a Ref, but credit where its due, spotted the handball & rightly gave us a penalty, & I was convinced the 3rd was going to be ruled out, just because anyone goes near a keeper & Refs give a foul, so credit for not blowing up there.

It was a penalty and the goalkeeper was not fouled for the 3rd goal.
We won on merit not down to dodgy decisions. Many refs have treated us unfairly this season, so a referee who was mainly impartial is a rarity
He should have sent off Dickie long before he was booked for pulling back Carey late on.

At least 3 bookable offences unpunished.

We had same ref a while ago. On that day he was absolutely dire. Soooo. About time we had ‘the rub of the green’
