Last Win At Ewood?

I've been watching the Pool play at Ewood since the Seventies, but I'm pretty sure I've never seen us win there.

When did it last happen?

I remember us beating Blackburn several times in the 70’s.
A night match with George Wood making his first regular appearance following Burridge transfer to Villa.
Another in 76 and as mentioned in 77. Beat them in 66 too.
Several draws since.

Never seen Pool win at Ewood be it League,FA Cup or even the bloody Lancs Cup. Not there tonight, but good luck every Pool fan.

Never seen us win any of our main Lancashire Derby's away.

Deepdale:
W: 0 D: 2 L: 1

Ewood:
W: 0 D: 1 L: 2

Turf Moor:
W: 0 D: 1 L: 1

Toughsheet (Reebok):
W: 0 D: 1 L: 0

Shocking record!

Pool won at Ewood in 1966 and then three consecutive years 1975, 1976 & 1977.

We didn’t play Rovers in a League game for 30 years from 1980 to 2010.

From 2010 we have played at Ewood 7 times — 4 draws and 3 losses.

We hadn’t beaten Stoke at Bloomers for a lifetime Big Mick is ripping up the form book 🙏🏻

Won 2-1 in 1977.

Good report in the Gazette:

Yep, I was at that game. Train to Mill Hill then escorted by Old Bill to Ewood Park.
Always remember being served beer through a hatch in the small snack bar at one side of the away end. Although early in the season the win took us to the top of the league I think.
Never thought relegation was coming later that season 😞

The 1966 game was hectic, fights all over the place. You could walk round the ground in those days with supporters swapping ends at HT.

That 1966 game was one of my first away local derby . Rovers had already been relegated and there wasn’t a big crowd , but as you say there were fights all over . With the sparse crowd it was hard to avoid any areas where it was kicking off , you certainly needed to have your wits about you that night .

But for a certain Ghanaian keeper it would have been 19th March 2011!

Sh1te keeper for sure but an even sh1ter ref - Howard feckin Webb.

We should have had a corner in just about injury time and they should not have got a free kick in injury time.

Who brought this match up ?

I've just come out of therapy.
