Laurence Fox

Not at all.

I am asking each individual whether they'd rather have Khan as mayor than Fox.

I am not asking how the mayor is elected or for anybody to predict the result.

It is absolutely up to the electorate of London regardless of what the AVFTT political clique think.
Fox has got absolutely no chance of winning btw.

I am perfectly aware how the mayoral elections are decided.

I did not ask about that or ask anybody to predict the result.

I just asked the good people of this board whether they'd rather have Khan as mayor than Fox and nobody is obliged to answer.

Would anybody rather have Khan than him ?

It wouldn't be much of a choice, but yes, I would, certainly.

One is a career politician with broadly decent instincts but not much talent or presence.

The other is a nasty, reactionary weirdo who has nothing to offer other than populist (and not very well thought out) posturing.

I think Khan will win, this is a Labour city these days.

Fox doesn’t stand a chance, London is full of hoi polloi upper class liberals like Basilrobbie.

That will take you some time asking every individual in London but kudos for the extensive research.

A view from the Hoi Poloi upper class liberal. Smiles.

Yes, the man of the people Fox has no chance fitting in to upper class society.
To be fair LF may well come from a privileged background but his politics don’t reflect that. I stand by my post, and Robbies post only backs up mine with his comment on London now being a Labour city.

Fox is a knob and a crap actor. Anyone see him in White Lines? What happened to Rory Stewart I thought he was campaigning? Although I couldn’t care less. What about the West Midlands Mayor, it’s about as relevant.

Indeed, conspiracy theories, racism and Covid denying really are just the preserve of the working man.

I wanted to like White Lines because Daniel Mays is always worth watching but gave up after two episodes, it was junk TV.

What are you on about ?, I’m a working man and I don’t do conspiracy theories, I. Not a racist ( despite what you think) Shaun Bailey should get the job, and I don’t deny COVID so i don’t understand your reply. I. Pretty sure LF isn't really a working class man either.

Again, I can type more slowly if it helps?

Can’t help yourself can you.
Well if we're discussing not being able to help one's self you were the one who appeared out of thin air on this thread having a pop at another poster, it's not up to me to then have to explain subsequent posts directed at you is it?

Who did I have a pop at ?

Scara, can I ask why are you so bothered about the Mayor of London and the President of America?
I’m not, is this not a politics board ? They are ploiticians are they not, therefore they get discussed on a politics thread.

I think you will find I didn’t, I merely used his own words to describe himself from a previous post.
I’m still not sure who you’d vote for. I sort of get the impression you favour Fox over Khan but I don’t want to put words in your mouth.

So maybe you can say:

1. Who you prefer? And
2. Why?

Then we can have a proper discussion rather than a ding dong.

Don’t be naughty mex, you know I’m not a fan of identity politics Kahn, while he’s fucked about spouting nonsense knife crime is at a ridiculous high in the capital. If I was going to pick someone I would pick Shaun Bailey, comes a cross as a level headed type of guy that doesn’t have an agenda. Now I fully expect you to go on the offensive with some big words chucked in to try and bamboozle me and you will no doubt ignore anything I’ve said in this reply. ( Awaits for all your mates to join in )

Well 2020s question was do you prefer Khan v Fox which is why I asked the questions I did. You haven’t answered that but have stated your preference so fair dos.

So a couple of questions:

1. Do think Fox might pull support away from Bailey? And split the vote?
2. What would Bailey do differently about knife crime in London?

Fox may well split the vote, but I think he’s pissing in the wind personally, regards Bailey from posts I’ve seen on Twatter he seems to be saying the right things. But as we know what they say and what they do are two different things. But you have to believe in someone, and that they may be able to do a better job than the person sitting in the big seat. Obviously I don’t get to vote on the outcome so I’m only expressing an opinion. The proof will be in the pudding but I cant agree with anyone that tells me Kahn has been a good mayor.

I don't ever remember doing that, but if I did I was taking the piss, because the phrase makes no sense whatsoever. I mean, you can't be upper class AND be a member of the hoi polloi, can you?

Still not sure why you have it in for Khan. The only thing I can pick up is that it’s associated with knife crime.

Assuming I’m right and that is the issue then the number of homicides in London in 2020 was 126. A lot of people I grant you but in 2003 it was 221. And similar figures for the years around then. Much higher.

And I’m not clear on what Bailey will do that Khan isn’t to address the problem?

I just dont feel he’s given it his best shot regards knife crime and gangs, he seems too busy moaning about statues and whinging about congestion charges. I’m not saying Bailey will get it right but eventually someone has too, so why not Bailey.

The man is totally inept and out of his depth.

Let’s not fight about it, but you did class yourself in one of your posts as being part of the Hoi polloi.
