Lessons learned

After a horrendous season like this there should be an important lessons learned undertaken. Questions need answering. Why have we had so many injuries? Why have the players taken so long to recover? Why has our recruitment of players and managers been so abysmal? Etc. What needs to change? There needs to be a clear strategy going forward. This should then be explained to the fans maybe by way of a forum. The least we deserve is for the board - if possible - to convince us things will improve. An action plan put together to address shortcomings and lessons must be learned.

Because we have no standards

They had a plan. Critchley met that plan - young coach with a reputation for coaching and developing youngsters.
We then recruited a lot of players from the leagues below and quite a few stepped up nicely (Yates, Anderson, Hamilton, Marv) plus we looked to Prem academies to permanently sign those we felt could make the step to full pro.
Then added a few loans in key positions to supplement.

This summer we basically abandoned that philosophy….
