Let's pull together for the end of season

Now I am not a fan of Critchley's tactics to say the least, but there are 9 games to go until the end of the season and we are within spitting distance of that last play off spot. I have been extremely critical of the football this season and team selections and some terrible performances. But! Critchley is going nowhere, he will be here next season regardless of what happens this but over the past few games we have had some really good results with the odd poor one but our form is decent and if anyone thinks yesterdays game was boring then they want their head examined, it was edge of your seat stuff, blood and guts after the most ridiculous sending off I have ever seen.

We have a tough game on Tuesday which I am not expecting anything from, so anything would be a bonus. However, after that, with the exception of Derby I can see us getting enough points to get into 6th place, it's going to be tight and it will possibly go to the last day against Reading.

We need to put the animosity behind us until it is impossible to reach the play offs because we are not out of it, we can do it. If we do then great and if we don't then we can have a post mortem, but now is not the time to do it.

I am telling you now Critchley will be here next season so whatever league we are in we have to hope that the players who are surplus to requirements are moved on and we get better replacements in and keep hold of our best players.

Continuity is key and we are going to have to be prepared to give Critchley a chance next season and if he is failing badly we have to hope Sadler will be proactive. He may, pf course do well we haven't got a crystal ball to gaze into.

Massive gameon Tuesday and 8 more after that and hopefully another 3 after those.

Just wish you'd mentioned all this earlier 😉 🤣

So, Hertford posts a rallying call for EVERYBODY to get behind the team for the last 9 games of the season and within the first couple of posts, people are having a pop at him. Only an AVFTT hey !
I think the point is, we shouldn't have to have a rallying cry. We should be behind the team, manager and club from day one.

Players must have thought it was Christmas Day when the team was announced. RWB playing RWB, LWB playing LWB, DCM sitting in and doing what he was bought to do, DCM partner with a bit of license to get further forward, silky player ahead of them, Rhodes with a partner.

I bet if you were (allowed) to ask the players they would say it was the best line up and selection of the season. You could argue Beesley/Joseph/The Wasp........

All the motivation needed.

Let's hope we don't see CC at LWB come Tuesday.

There are quite a few people saying they won't go next season if Critchley is still manager..... well, he's going to be whatever we think and wherever we finish this season, there are also others saying it's all gone to shit and we aren't going to make the play offs this season. I get that, it's peoples opinions but we are not out of it are we? We'd all like to be in the top 2 or comfortably in the top 6 but we're not, we have underperformed in too many games that we should have been winning so we are where we are. But I actually think the team he is starting to settle on is the best one we have and if he sticks with it for the remainder of the season we have a chance. There is no point in walking away now. A lot of those who say they will, won't do it when push comes to shove, it is the ones who are on the periphery who will go, but even if we stay in League 1 I bet we still sell the same sort of season ticket numbers as this season.

Remainder removed.

Persisting with out of form/ not good enough players is is a mistake 🧐
So who says some of the players are not good enough? it is only on here that you hear it, their is a hardcore group on here who spout nothing else about the same players, their views change game by game depending on what they have had for their tea or how many pints they have had.

Not if it negatively affects the team it isn’t.
That’s irrelevant… A manager makes his decisions based on the best information he has available to him and operates in the realm of reality.

Fans operate in a world of fantasy and make imaginary decisions that always have perfect imaginary outcomes with the benefit of hindsight.

Some decisions are obvious. Ie Gabriel is a quality RWB. CJ is a non tackling left winger. If you unquestionably believe every decision Critchley makes is the right one you are not living in the real world I’m afraid.

A rallying call by those miserable tossers who've been bleating all season.

Fuck U.
YOU are the problem half of those rarely set foot in BR and are contempt watching an illegal stream whilst slagging players, manger and our owner off

How about getting behind your supposed team from the off but I suppose social 'negative' media doesn't work that way.

They may seem obvious in the absence of all the facts, to individuals who are not remotely qualified to understand, perhaps.

I’ve always tended to prefer the judgment of the qualified coach and his team as opposed to ‘randomusername’ on AVFTT.

Interesting. You must also believe Appleton and McCarthy made all the right calls last season too.
I believe they made choices that they felt were the right ones for them. Appleton has had some limited success in the game, McCarthy has has a long and successful career in Football Management.

It didn’t work out for either of those managers at Blackpool and that can happen.. In fact it happens quite a lot.

Neil Critchley has a very good record here at Blackpool and we seem to be improving under his leadership.

@Superbretty off AVFTT would definitely have been a far worse choice of manager than any of those mentioned.

You should move to North Korea. I think you would love it.

Connolly is a utility player and is useful when we have injuries etc., however he never hides and is aware of his limitations, a couple of seasons ago, in the Championship he was excellent but he doesn't suit this formation and we have other players who are better, which is why he hasn't even been in the squad recently. Critchley clearly rates him and even gives him the captains armband sometimes but I would be disappointed if we offered him a new contract next season, we need to move on.

There are some on here who like to blame players continually, it isn't something that I like to do and avoid it as much as I can. I had a bit of a joke going with Voyeur last season about Kenny but he is missed now he is gone. There are also people on here who continually moan about the manager and the owner (guilty as charged) but I still try to be fair and only pick out things I think are bad and highlight things that are good, And then there are those on here who just look for any excuse to be and arshole about fellow supporters because they cannot abide others having different opinions to them, usually questioning others commitment because they don't attend games so can't have a say, and that really boils my piss.

This was supposed to be a positive thread but the usual suspects have had to stick the knife in and they don't even have an opinion, it's just pathetic really. It's those who will not look at the big picture and will not change their minds because they just won't, a bit like the hard like reds and blues on the politics threads. Generally this forum is brilliant with some great people, many of whom I know )I don't go to games how could that possibly be true!!) and at the end of the day the few who won't listen to others opinions and argue their points are the ones who aren't really bothering with.

I am not a fan Daz as you know, but he needs next season and a bit of a clear out and a really good transfer window and get us promoted automatically. I say that because I don't think we are ready to go up to the Championship, we haven't got the players and it would be too much of an ask at the moment, I hope we do make the play offs and go up but I think another season in League 1 with a plan to put a team together that will go up and be a good base for a Championship side.

Fully understand and respect you opinions, we all have them and as long as it is put over in the right its all good.

@hertfordseasider Nothing wrong with a rallying cry at the business end of the season when there is all to play for.

It’s been a frustrating season, but I still feel like it’s been more of a success than a failure. Overall, I’m just glad we’re still in it now, rather than languishing in mid table, too far adrift.

Our players will be leggy after Saturday. Agree with many that it was pretty much our strongest starting team. I expect there will be rotation for Tuesday and those stepping in (CJ, Connolly?) need to prove a point.
