Its called Steep Hill for a reasonGreat pre-match pub - The Strugglers. Should be a great post-match pub too, were it not for that bloody hill.

The pub might be called The Strugglers for the same reason. Its called Steep Hill for a reason
Actually, it's called The Strugglers because the pub is sited close to where public hangings used to be held. Before the introduction of the long drop, deaths by hanging took as long as it took for asphyxiation to complete it's job or the heart to give out.The pub might be called The Strugglers for the same reason.

Driven there lots of times and it's all motorway.Sh#t hole to drive to. The last game there after queuing in traffic for nearly an hour I abandoned the motor on the road leading to the ground and just walked expecting 100% a ticket or worse. Nothing happened so will adopt the same again if the traffic is as bad
Not when you get into Lincoln . I was there at 1.30 pm and it took me 1 hrs to get through the "city"Driven there lots of times and it's all motorway.
M55, M6, M61,M62,M18 and M180. Easy peezy.
2 of us will be going, but we only live 6 miles from Lincoln!Me and my lad are down in Cambridge visiting my sister so might make this game - anyone else planning on going ?
Actually called The Strugglers because they used to struggle when they were on the gibbet being hanged in that locality. One public execution session on a tower of Lincoln castle apparently attracted a crowd of 20,000. I think season tickets must have been cheap in those days. The pub might be called The Strugglers for the same reason.
There is a park and ride on the east side of Lincoln at the Waitrose car park. The bus opposite takes you via the Cathedral to the central bus station in about 10 minutes and the ground is about a 10 minute walk from there. Not when you get into Lincoln . I'm fortunate enough to know Lincoln very well and as we always stay on Carholme Rd we never have a problem driving to Sincil Bank. Not when you get into Lincoln . I was there at 1.30 pm and it took me 1 hrs to get through the "city"

Think I'll be giving this particular hostelry a bit of a miss, thanks. As a haunt for visiting away fans (pre-match/ post-match - or both), especially those of a suspicious nature, I really think that name alone - The Strugglers - ougtht to be enough to deter those supporters who are of a decidedly tangerine persuasion from even thinking of paying a visit!Great pre-match pub - The Strugglers. Shame because it is a good pub. I'd take that suspicious nature and lock it in a cupboard somewhere.Think I'll be giving this particular hostelry a bit of a miss, thanks. I would do, but I've heard that people who lock things away in cupboards, face the risk of being laid low with pestilence for taking such unwarranted precaution in the face of something presenting virtually zero threat ... I'm in such a quandary with regard to what to do next. Beyond maybe visiting that pub you mentioned and getting absolutely trolleyed.Shame because it is a good pub. Your last idea sounds like the best solution. However, as a responsible kinda guy I would suggest you leave the extensive celebrations until after our convincing win.I would do, but I've heard that people who lock things away in cupboards, face the risk of being laid low with pestilence for taking such unwarranted precaution in the face of something presenting virtually zero threat ... What would you recommend?
