London eh not getting more violent?

The only tiny bit of comfort, is that had this been in America, the guy would have had an automatic weapon and killed many more.

THE tv presenter Jay Blades has lost his uncle . in WEMBLEY over a terrortorial dispute. Stabbed to death. jeez. the t..ts are due on trial early 2025.

Are these disturbed people not switched on to do these horrible things by very violent games like fortnight ?
The issue with that completely flawed argument is many games are daft and you don't see those things happening.

You don't see plumbers running around trying to jump on moving mushrooms... etc...

As Herts said, it's Essex really. Practically Denmark.

Either way it is tragic, and I'm not sure a suitable topic for all these generalisations about how terrible London is from the experts sitting at home in - where is it you live? Thornton?
I’ve said all along London is a much more violent place than it was just 8-10 years ago something you and others for some strange reason keep dismissing when the facts are out there for all to see.

Anyway I've moved up market now to PLF. 😉

The facts, as quoted, by ESBN above, suggest that knife crime in London went up in 2023, but was still lower than it had been in 2020.

Hot bed of crime. Cube gets trashed every other week.

Crime stats for London

Both murder and knife crime decreasing.

Violent crime is higher in the last 2 years though

RIP that poor young lad. Thank you to the brave police officers.

It’s tragic that we arrive in the position that anyone has access to a weapon such as a sword. It’s just an invitation to the evil or mentally unwell.

I would also suggest that to use this tragedy to debate crime figures in another part of the country is not appropriate.

We all know how much slagging Blackpool gets and we wouldn’t be much impressed if a tragedy in Blackpool was used to taint the whole place.
I agree. There’s little doubt the op was trying to make a political point. There seemed to be very little care or sympathy for the victims, or recognition of the bravery of the police officers involved.

I cannot remember seeing or hearing about so many violent crimes carried out by youths and children, in my day it was knuckle dusters, the occasional flick knife, and old bicycle chains. Now it appears that kids from 10 years upwards go out armed with knives, and they are displayed and easily available in a number of shops, along with masks and other sorts of paraphernalia that gangs use.

Dale Cregan who now exploits our prison system by feigning madness...

Instead of being in a Cat A prison he now resides in a high security mental institution, costing US the taxpayers several hundred thousand pounds per year to keep there.

The bastard needs a bullet in his temple!
