There's no good in finding fault with fans. The way things are at the moment Appleton has to carry some blame. So does Mansford for the atrocious summer recruitment. We need a good January window and we can't hold out for more than that as things stand.

You can’t expect anything else when he picks the likes of Beesley on the wing. I thought it couldn’t get any worse playing Yates and Lavery on the wing but he has managed it.

But fighting your bollocks off and still not having won a game in 8 stinks !!!!

We only fought once we'd scored and by then it was more or less all over

Critchley (as much as I wasn't a fan) had players believing in themselves, it seems like Appleton has wiped all the confidence out

I agree. Tonight I was expecting an absolute trouncing but what I saw was a team busting a gut trying to get a result. OK we were eventually well beaten by a team who were more skillful, faster and more savvy regarding winning matches, but I came away more optimistic than I thought I would.
I don't like Appleton and never will but I'm not sure getting rid of him now would fo any good.
 
I always get the impression that appleton doesnt really do any background on opposition teams.

Its always the same pattern, we come out guns blazing for 5 or six minutes and then we sit back. Its as though the players are trying to work out for themselves how the opposition play. We'll have another five minutes later in the half, but sit back again. if we score early early we might be in with a chance of a result, if not or we concede its a continual uphill battle.

When i was a kid I played for a decent youth team, and the coach who knew the local game, would always give us bits and pieces about many of the opposition players, who was fast, who was tricky, who was good in the air, etc etc. after an injury i lost my place in the team, saw i wasnt going to get it back and went to another team, where the guy running it was simply the guy who drove the minibus, and the father of the team captain. Appleton is similar, hes just there, he picks a team based on some magical way of playing that he has in his mind which bears no relation to the various abilities of the players he has. If appleton had Haaland in the side he'd probably play him as a right wing back just to meet his fantasy 4-3-3

Total garbage. He tweaked the system today so that Poveda played just behind Madine so that he could man mark Norwood.

I saw a team that was setup so poorly it was embarrassing. I saw a team with very little cohesion. I saw a team that is going to be relegated if things don't change. Give up with Appleton love in, he's garbage and his time is up.

Please don’t defend playing Beesley on the wing. It’s barely League One stuff. Not saying there are loads of options but we can only judge on what we see.

The players are battling for MA and they are a credit. The fact most of them aren't Championship standard is irrelevant.

The supporters need to wobble their heads, it's down to them that the atmosphere is shit now, the team need our support more than ever and the lost the fans, well he had lost them before he was even announced, I have no idea why Sadler went for him, not because he's a bad manager, he isn't but because of the negative feeling before he had even taken a training session, and then not to back him, I'b be shouting at Sadler not MA.

I agree. Berge cost £22m compared to our record signing (DJ Campbell at £ 1.5m) and £22m is more than we have spent on transfers in the history of the club!!

Apart from losing the only downer for me was the ease with which the second goal was scored.

Why would anyone in their right mind, let alone a professional head coach assign the least defensive player in the team to man mark an opposition player

Agreed , they put in a shift . Singing sacked in the morning does absolutely nothing for the team on the pitch . I’m not a fan of MA at all , was willing to give him a chance , but the table doesn’t lie .

Yup - a half empty West stand for a holiday game says it all. "Best fans in the land" my arse. As for "sacked in the morning" is this what we've become? Embarrassing when the team were busting a gut to scrape out a result against a team who bought one player for 5 million more than the total saleable value of our club.
 
The reason the stands are empty is the piss poor signings; piss poor dour prickly kerhunt of a manager that we’ve endured once before and knew would be totally shite before a ball was kicked; delivering piss poor footballl and even piss poorer results. BFC supporters that are surprised by the lack of fans in the stands and the fact that frustration is showing in the chanting from those who have paid money to be there are the ones who need to give their head a wobble. It’s supposed to be entertaining!

We were much improved after the chant compared to before though 😉
 
Singing ‘Sacked in the morning‘ was a disgrace. Should have sung the traditional ‘we want Appleton out’ instead.
