LURE SECOND OWNER - OR DROP PERIlL

Recent abject defeats by already relegated teams have exposed the squad's frailty.

Simon Sadler faces a need for spending beyond his capacity to ensure progress.

The requirement for another big financier alongside him appears imperative.

Otherwise, rather than a promotion bid, a return to League One looks a real threat.

SS doesn’t need anyone else. He’s got loads 💷 💰 💶

Just need the creative midfielder that Critch didn’t bother about on Jan

Nothing to do with frailty, they just couldn't be bothered.

You are not the real Paulco, because:

1. I could understand your post, even though I did not agree with it;

2. Your CAPS LOCK is not on.

COULD DO BETTER 🤣 🍊

Out of interest what parts don't you agree with.

The first bit I think isn't far off the mark.

Second bit is speculation, which ties in with nest bit.....

We simply don't know what SS has to spend on BFC so why not have some other financial input? Makes sense on many levels.

The last bit is of course true. However the OP ignore the Bowler sale which will be this seasons 'benefactor'.

Possibly. Or, we might progress.

All right, I'll have a go. :)

He made four points:

"Recent abject defeats by already relegated teams have exposed the squad's frailty" I agree with this. Also exposes the coach's misjudgement in recent team selections.

"Simon Sadler faces a need for spending beyond his capacity to ensure progress." (a) First, as you said, we don't know what Simon Sadler's capacity is, and so it's for him to consider whether more financial input is needed. Another investor is not automatically a good thing. (b) Secondly, what does "to ensure progress mean"? Promotion to the Premier League? Establishing ourselves in the Championship and strengthening for the longer term is also progress.

"The requirement for another big financier alongside him appears imperative." Appears imperative to him, but not to me - see my response to the previous point.

"Otherwise, rather than a promotion bid, a return to League One looks a real threat." I agree we need to improve the team over the Summer. But it's not an either/or issue. Another year of consolidation would also be a good outcome.

Good stuff Grumpy!

The other investor I see could be someone who would add extra funds so the club isn't wholly reliant on SS.

I say that because we really don't have a clue what SS can invest and we are not mindreaders so have no idea whether his circumstances may change in the future meaning BFC becomes less important. If you accept that then take it to a logical extreme and you can see that BFC may not be in a good place. Are we protected? Another investor alongside would help.

Perhaps I'm being too reality and that SS has set aside fixed sums in advance. I hope so.

We know that Simon Sadler cares for the club on a personal level and it's not just an investment for him. If he thinks the club needs more investment then I'm sure he will be looking for suitable people. This could be from his business contracts or his wider family.

We can, I think, trust him to do the right thing. Of all the concerns I have about the club, this is not one of them. :) 🍊

Picturing Sadler trying to "lure" a second owner by dispersing heaping ladles of caviar around Bloomfield road.
When he first arrived he made it clear he wasn't interested in another investor. Be interesting to know if that is still the same.
