Lytham Festival line up.

That was my initial thought but then I thought I’ve already seen them around a dozen times and this will be something different. It’s still the same songs and Tim singing.
True but they just ain't the same to me. Can't get into that orchestra album.

Message my mate who saw an orchestra gig and he replied with

"FFS!!!! Got really excited until I saw the orchestra part! He'll have no clapping and singing as well for that."

Gutted as normal tour in June can't do Manchester as off to benners following day early. Just typical

I like Brittany Howard......Great voice and some good Alabama Shakes songs.....but not a Lytham Festival draw
Johnny Marr having a pop at some old Smiths tunes could be mildly interesting after a few beers
Madness were OK last time they played...One for bald men over 50, reliving their yoof.

I doubt there's one day, that I would actually pay the full ticket price for.......very underwhelming

Try it, live will be a different experience to the album. If I was a fan I’d punt for it with it being local. You may be surprised 😎🇯🇲

Tim Booth is a great lead singer and if he's supported by Johnny Marr can't be all orchestral
Johnny Marr is on before James. James are performing with an orchestra and choir. Did the same at Winter Gardens earlier this year. Not for me.

I presumed it was just an orchestra backing them, didn’t realise they’d done an orchestral album. Just listened to 30 seconds of She’s a Star. FFS 🤦‍♂️

Nothing there that appeals to me except maybe Wednesday but I couldn't go as I've got a clashing commitment and have asked a friend to take me to church

Saturday should be a decent night with Madness, Rick Astley and Lightning Seeds.

When are tickets available for a one night pass?

Edit. Thursday sales open for one night pass.

Interesting isn’t it that 5 days of gigs which (so I am told) are attended by a fair number of pissed and coked up people is perfectly ok to be policed, but a local derby must have its kick off time dictated by the police?
It’s a fairly serene crowd in the main. A few coke heads who can’t stop talking when the bands are on.

I quite enjoyed James with the orchestra earlier this year at the Opera House. Something a bit different. Marr will be good and he does do some Smiths stuff.

Debating weather or not to go. I probably will

Happy with Courteeners.

Heard a rumour Green Day are headlining another night. Probably bollocks.

Should get free tickets again because I'm such a popular member of the local community.
If Green Day are officially washed up, out of relevance and desperate for a gig then they may actually be in the Lytham line up.

I wish The Kinks would play. I would go to that. Ray Davies has been talking recently about one last reunion. But it would probably be at the O2 in London at £200 a head.

Never seen James with an orchestra but live they have some big bangers with a few beers and an exotic cigarette I can see it being a good summers evening

Not bothered by the other nights

Only been to Lytham once 2 years ago to see Elbow who were good whereas supporting act, Richard Hawley was excellent- so much so have got tickets to see him and the band in June

Who I always end up standing near🤬

The Weller gig did for me, surrounded by total bellends, like you say, talking.
"Why ain't he doing Jam songs?"🤦
Me and my sons had to be dragged away in the end as it was getting more and more frustrating and my youngest has a shorter fuse than I.
Missed the last 20 or so minutes of the gig as I was that angry I couldn't enjoy it anymore.
It would have to be an exceptional act, coupled with a personal gig to even tempt me back.

I’m well practiced now. If it happens, we just move to another spot. Bit of a ball ache, but it is what it is and non confrontational. Same happens at any festival or music event, don’t let the tossers spoil your vibe 😎🇯🇲

Coke heads ffs
This may require irs own thread but I can abide stoners, indeed I enjoy the odd exotic cigarette myself ,dancing e heads I can tolerate but not interested personally since 1992

However cocaine and being a complete fkwit go together - I don't know if it's the incessant rambling, the hyper (false)confidence ,the repition, gurning etc but the poundshop Tony Montanas of all bastard ages do my nut in.
You can spot them a mile off in most bars, gigs and even football grounds

Mix it with too much booze and ffs you have never come across such fkn pricks.Heres the kicker though- they actually think they are great .

The next morning depressed ,self pitying goons

My observations come from what I see when out and working countless nights in an A&E dept where way too many wash up skint, emotional wrecks ,often aggressive and with their tales of woe

I remember going for a drink on a Friday about 14 years ago at Zest bar in Lytham, I was minding my own business alone, and three guys in their late 30s were a bit pissed and coked up and started to pick on me to try and impress the ladies, their ring leader came right up to me and threaten me with violence. I left the bar after I finished my drink and went somewhere else. About four weeks later I passed Zest bar, and the same guy who threatened me was on his own but was so drunk and drugged up he was crawling out of the bar on his hands and knees. I just smiled and walked past him. What shocked me was that they were not teenagers, but guys that were nearly 40 that behaved so badly.
