I know he's from north east. But is his home town M'boro? He’ll be desperate to play against the Mackems
Why would the ref's sexuality be a problem? He should start, we need his shithousery, I would worry about the ref being a homer though.
It feels like Appleton sets up completely the opposite of how he should every single game at the moment.Madine yes, but not in this system.
Are you a relative ?Madine.
Can hold the ball up and bring others into play.
CH's hate playing against him.
One of the best defenders from set plays reads the game well and often gets his head on the ball.
Unlike Yates and Lavery can actually play up top on his own and like Saturday when you get two of them together we're more of a threat.
He's our best forward it's a no brainer he should start we play better with him in the side.
He should start, we need his shithousery, I would worry about the ref being a homer though.
2 out of 3 ain't badYates corbs madine
Yes but if having got it you don`t then use it as often happened tonight plus being a goalless machine makes him not worth his place.Unfortunately he's the only big man we have to hold the ball up at the moment.
I agree, he's not the best but he's better in a 442 with Yates. He wasn't effective in that set up. He definitely lacks goals, you'd expect him to put in a few headers for his sizeYes but if having got it you don`t then use it as happened tonight plus being a goalless machine makes him not worth his place.
The ref let it flow tonight. No complaintsYes but if having got it you don`t then use it as often happened tonight plus being a goalless machine makes him not worth his place.
And despite suggestions otherwise above I thought the ref was excellent tonight and very fair.
Birtley and definitely a Mag. Birtley is between Chester le Street and Gateshead.I know he's from north east. But is his home town M'boro?
If so he should definitely play.
Don't think lav can cut it on the wing, he should just be the striker sub for when Yates and madine tire2 out of 3 ain't bad
He looked good in one match where he scored 2 goals, think it is a stretch to say he has got it allReally think beesley is the key to our striker woes tho, he's got it all, whereas all the rest are too far one way or the other
When do we expect to see Beesley? How bad was his injury?Really think beesley is the key to our striker woes tho, he's got it all, whereas all the rest are too far one way or the other
Think he said 5 weeks on Sofa TalkWhen do we expect to see Beesley? How bad was his injury?
Seems like he’s the forgotten man all of a sudden along with Stewart, Keshi, & Co.
Maybe... but he can't do any worse than what we've got can he?He looked good in one match where he scored 2 goals, think it is a stretch to say he has got it all
Sounds like you are describing CorbeanuMaybe... but he can't do any worse than what we've got can he?
He's tall, fast, strong, can head, can harass, and can poach.
All of our other strikers are only 3 of those attributes at best.
Except I'm talking about strikers. Not wingers.Sounds like you are describing Corbeanu
Thierry Henri and Ronaldo started out as wingers didn't they?Except I'm talking about strikers. Not wingers.
You think beesley is not worth a go then?Thierry Henri and Ronaldo started out as wingers didn't they?
I think Theo is more potent in front of goal than any of our regular strikers
I think Beesley is some way off fitness whereas Corbeanu is ready now. Beesley did not start his career as a striker BTW.You think beesley is not worth a go then?
If he saw him as a centre forward he would be playing him there. He clearly isn't afraid of playing his forwards out of position.
Good question. He looked like he was maybe a bit of a handful for defences. When do we expect to see Beesley? How bad was his injury?
Seems like he’s the forgotten man all of a sudden along with Stewart, Keshi, & Co.
Thompson doesn’t seem to think so!He jumps lower than his height. That's quite a skill
Play him centre half then he might get more goalsThompson doesn’t seem to think so!
Always raving about his defensive qualities
Potentially we should have three attackers and two attacking midfielders in and around the box, with Gaz being the focal point. In theoryPersonally if we are going to play madine in a rigid three up top, and we are doing, surely two proper wide players who can cross the ball are a necessity - or - the other two forwards need to be in close contact with him and width is provided by the full backs. At the moment it's neither fish nor fowl, we have three strikers but two of them are playing as advanced wing backs. We have a defensive mid playing as a number ten sort of and a playmaker as a defensive mid. With that going on we are unlikely to make a huge number of chances in open play. Maybe the MA tactic is to get forward and win freekicks corners and throws and try and get something from those.
