She is another Golden Retriever, and we will getting her second week December, currently only a couple of weeks old.

Looking forward to the sleepless nights and accidents!

Also, maybe going to take a leaf out of your book and go down to 4 days early next year. My missus has been working way too many days to cover this last year too, so she has also given them an ultimatum. We have a good life, but would improve with less work.

Concerning blokes opening up, me & probably my best mate back then were a right couple of fannies discussing everything. Remember discussing shaving & the effect splashing after shave on your sore face had. We welcomed open discussion on moisturising & balm.

I understand how you can get like that and I won’t ever go out looking for friends, I’m quite resistant to it to be honest. But sometimes you just meet one of the many good ones and it‘s hard not to engage.
There are some great people out there.

I definitely don’t do holiday friends…my wife last year made the huge error of being lured into a convo with a couple while I was getting drinks….
Feck me what a boring numpty the bloke was he drained the life out of me chatting crap…he then started showing me pictures on his phone of his new resin driveway at his house in Preston..
Well that was it we made excuses sharpish and went to the beach……Preston I tell ya….

Nothing worse than Bob and Karen asking you “where you’re from” and “which team you support”, “have you had a decent pint yet” bollocks.

Excuse yourself and head for the toilet.

If they follow you in just make for a cubicle as opposed to a urinal and lock yourself in. Then sit down and log into avftt for 15 minutes. And find another annoying fecker to get on your tits (that wasn’t directed at you by the way - just the other annoying feckers).

There’s a lot of truth in that.

I’ve been going to the same gym for a few years now. There’s a group of blokes about my age who sit in a line of the bikes pedalling very slowly and chatting. They used to glance over in my direction but I think they picked up the “don’t fecking bother trying to talk to me - I’m not interested” vibes. That said they sent one old chap over recently who commented on how sweaty I was and told me about his recent heart attack. I wasn’t rude but we didn’t talk for long.

In short I don’t go to the gym to 1) make friends 2) chat 3) pull 4) model the latest designer gear. I go to work up a sweat until I get bored. And then I go home.

When my wife has spoken to someone on holiday and I see them approaching I just lie back on the sunbed with earbuds in pretending I'm asleep. No music playing just thinking "phew got away with that"

I make friends easily which is handy as I’ve moved around a fair bit.

I reckon I know within two seconds of meeting someone wether they are worthy of my friendship, there have been the odd exceptions to this rule both ways.

If we weren't so old we would have another one by now.

I like a lot of my daughter's friends but it would be weird to hang out with them too much.

Get a dog - you meet a lot of people that way. It is amazing the number of attractive women who come up to speak to Rob and me ( well mainly rob).
