Still sorry I missed that one, I was on holiday for Xmas and New Year and only travelling back that night . Anyone got any memories of the day

Crazy day by all accounts. Early David McNiven goal I think. Bits of the Scratching Shed ripped off and thrown into the home end, City running from the Kop into the West, an attempt by them to storm the ticket office and rob the box of reserved tickets (read that in the Guvnors book I think). It also said we gave as good as we got in and around the ground. The worst story i remember from the Gazette was St Cuthberts Church on Lytham Rd getting broken into and City fans shitting in the benches.

1984 we were at the peak of our naughtiness, a couple of weeks later there was chaos away at Rochdale and Oxford away in Round 4, and the Torquay weekender amongst others. I think Oxford beat Burnley in a replay to play us. Imagine the scenes if we'd have rocked up at Turf Moor in that era !!!

I think Bangor City away in Round 2 was lively as well. Too young to go away that season myself but I remember the replay at our place and their keeper swallowing his tongue and being in trouble for what seemed like ages.

Is that the game when City equalised after a crazy six yard box “scrum” in injury time. If so I think it was Richard Sendall (or similar!) who scored our goal?

No, the OP is talking about when we won 2-0
David McNiven and Keith Mercer scored.
Scratchin shed was like a bloody war zone and it kicked off in the South paddock too when a group of City thought they could 'take' little Blackpool. They got a right good hiding.
In my early twenties and thought that games like that were the norm!!
To be fair, they were 40 years ago😵‍💫🤪

A great memory that game. Those city bastards must have thought they were in a mini kippax on the side of the ground. Lots of to and fro throughout the match. Scratching was on fire.

Remember dancing the night away not just in the bar at the Farmers but on it. Got a short suspension for that. Worth it.

A great match. For years I thought it would be the biggest Bloomfield crowd I would see. Got there around 2.30, South was already rammed, stood right at the front, there was no chance of getting any further back.
When David Mc's early goal went in I boxed a bit clever for once in my life and went back through the surge. Ended up with one of the coveted places on the back wall for the rest of the game. The lad next to me watched his dad on the pitch at half time as a police dog handler.
We were really hanging on by the end of it, at 2-1. I remember an incredible save by Gary Pearce right at the end, low down round the post.
Got gypped at Oxford in the 4th round, 2-1. Took thousands, my first ever away game.

Coach from Lancaster to Oxford was full cracking day out. Stopped at Broughton to replace alcohol drunk only half paid for. Near Oxford pubs full of Blackpool on way to ground.🍺🍺😀😀🍊🍊

Won 2-1
Hetze scored an OG
Mental before, during and after the match
I was with my sister and we divided into someone's house to get out of the way of a charging mob of City fans
The couple were eating their tea 🤣
