Because of 5.30 KO which is the latest it's ever been.
The funds from this go to Charities have they got it wrong or is their stance correct for being messed about with match times?

It's there supporters group calling for the boycott so not sure City using a meaningless game as an excuse not to go.

I doubt they'll boycott the SuperCup in Athens v Sevilla which is a far longer journey, planes are extortionate and a nightmare of a place pre match (Olympiacos ground area). Like Blackpool fans boycotting a Papa Johns trophy game.

Boycott my arse, very easy to boycott nothing games. They know they’ll get stick from their rivals as to why they didn’t fill their allocation so getting the excuses in.

Nope money gets split between all the clubs who take part in FA Cup to give over to Community projects and Charities.👍

In 2002, the Charity Commission found that the Football Association had failed to meet its legal obligations under charity law, by failing to specify what money from ticket sales went to charity, and delaying payments to the charities nominated. As a result, the competition was renamed the Community Shield

Don't blame them at all, sure the FA are in cahoots with the city of London to stage games late in the day to make it difficult for people to travel home meaning more people stay over.

Nah fuck all to do with that.
TV companies, sponsors etc want that time to maximise viewers and profit.
Hence why the Grand National and Fa Cup times have been moved until after 5.👍

You might be right, but whatever the reason the outcome is that people are pushed towards staying over in London

Why are there so many negative comments about this?.. "Easy to boycott ,Only a pre season friendly!!".
I applaud them and hope Wembley looks as bare in the City section as it did for us against Exeter. Would love to see every supporters group sign up to a boycott of Wembley for semi finals.. won't happen but only way to get the FA to change if fans don't attend. WELL DONE CITY SUPPORTERS THAT BOYCOTT...

You have to ask which utter, incompetent idiot decided a 530 pm kick off would be a good idea for this game, is it too hard to decide the traditional 3pm kick off that virtually all fans love would be better for all concerned ?

Horrible lot in general and most have only started supporting since the club got massive investment. This doesn't surprise me that they don't give a hoot about charities and only think of themselves . Where were they when in the old Div 3?

Around 32,000 of them in the old Div 3, which was just about capacity.
Won't argue about the figures , but it is a big city club and should be expected to get good gates . The thing is the thousands of City shirts we are now seeing on our streets . They have only started appearing in the last 5 or 6 years. I would also say there is even more in the last week since buying the Euro Championship. I don't remember all these shirts being worn in the 60s and 70s when they were just a side kick to Man Utd. Also going back to the fan base of the less successful era ,it did not stop them wrecking a number of Blackpool pubs on their visits.

You can't generalise a whole support base just because they smashed a few windows at the Hop Inn 20 years ago? In Blackpool we've always seen City shirts even when they were really shit but that's because there's a lot of Mancs that live amongst us. The ones I've spoke to remember their league1 tour and the song 'we're not really here' was made up on Blackpool's Kop according to them. I've honestly not seen an extra influx of glory fans but that might come in time like it did with Utd in the 90s.

They were always a well supported club but agree they've become the new 'in' kit over the last 3 or 4 years. Remember watching the 1999 CL final in the pub & on entering there were 3, so called Utd fans in front of me with red shirts so new they all still had the creases from the packaging all over them. I did become a bit obsessed because I'm no Utd but the way that game finished I was punching the air & screaming whilst noting the 3 stooges light applause. The minute the final whistle went they turned their backs to the screens. Had that been Blackpool I'd have been running round the pub starkers.

Fair play to them. 1730 kick off on a Sunday is utterly ridiculous regardless. Getting worse and worse each season these kick off times.

Well I have seen quite a few ,but we both have opinions.

Speaking of mancs living elsewhere, this seems to confirm what was once joked about about United...
