Manager aside…

Obviously we have severe limitations within our managerial and coaching staff but what about the players? CJ Hamilton, Casey and Carey all sleeping for the goals. Our players don’t graft or have the desire to compete - all over the pitch. In the words of Neil Warnock “you’ve got to die for the 3 points”. We’ve got less fight than the French

Totally agree , I don't see a proper captain who rallys the troops and gets everyone going, all these away day catastrophes and they still try and pass it round in the last 10 mins like it's the first 10mins of the match.

Said the same most of the season.

It’s not just about ditching the manager we have a squad of players who many in my opinion just aren’t good enough for league one anymore.

I said tongue in cheek early on in the match day thread, don't let them score first. Time after time this squad have lacked the grit and determination to come back from a goal down away from home and time after time the manager has failed to make substitutions early or change the shape he is stuck on.

Yeh ive said it before and I'll say it again. All our best players from a side that got relegated left. Pretty much our whole first 11 really. We were left with what nobody else wanted. Yeh we've added a few and are a decent league 1 team but that's all. 8th - 6th is about all we are good for. I'm not expunging Critchley by the way as he certainly isn't blameless by trying to play this formation with players who tbh aren't good enough to do it so he should make things simpler for them in positions they are more comfortable with.

Gabriel, Morgan and Dembele are the only 3 who would get in the top sides teams. Maybe Rhodes. That's where we are unfortunately.

The fact a 1st half goal can kill us tells us everything about the players weak mentality.

Absolutely spot on…..a squad of bang average league 1 players. Yes maybe someone different in charge might get a little more out of certain individuals but at the end of the day these guys are supposed to be professional footballers…..what a joke.

When you compare this team with the 06-07 promotion team the difference is stark. Back four contained Evatt, Barker and Jackson. Midfield Jorgenson, Southern and the incomparable Wes. Up front Andy Morrell and Parker. All would walk into the present side both in terms of ability and desire, even Kiegan. Quite frankly the players we seem to "identify" and sign don't seem very good to me.

Never noticed who was at fault for our goals as was probably asleep by then 😴

But that's one thing that annoys me to hell with CJ.... he never gets stuck in and bottles challenges... for me forget how good u are this is a given and something us fans expect . Again critch sees this and must think its OK.

Connolly has the grit - but is not the best technically.
He should play at the moment to balance things and lead the team on the pitch. Norburn too.
Critch is shot to pieces, we need a reset, someone new.

i noticed last night when grimshaw saved the pen that noone celebrated or even looked bothered. just seems they dont care or have the desire. some of these players should be fighting for their careers like carey and lyons but there is no effort from them

Imagine if Keogh were still here .. doubt any of them would put in an under par performance!!

The Vichy French, maybe ...

He was shot to pieces even before Sadler, amazingly, took a second punt on him!

What a silly punt ...

We had 11 back for long throws, never mind corners and still they had two or three unmarked in the box. WTF???

Too many players not taking responsibility. We can send one or two of them as the mute section of the fans panel.
To me that is really problematic because it simply invites continual pressure, why bring back dembele for a long throw or even a corner up against 6 foot plus CHs in the box. Stupid tactics, because I cannot imagine that it's the players deciding this. We should be leaving at least one up for all set pieces, two would be better, occupy three defensive players. With literally 18 or 19 players in the box, you cant really mark players and weve abandoned the zonal marking that was quite effective, or maybe we haven't and we're just really crap a it.

We put in several under par performances with Keogh, derby comes to mind and I think he was playing for the battering against Peterborough and the game against Preston where we were limper than a Nice biscuit left in hot tea for twenty minutes

The manager sends them out with no rallying cry as he is like a wet lettuce leaf …. But the players equally should have some pride in themselves and the club. There were glimpses of it against Bolton in the second half of the carabau cup and forest games actually …. But it is too infrequent .

All our players confidence has been drained by the constant lambasting they get from the fans here and on other forums. It's not our manager or our players that are a joke. It's the vast majority of our fans who post on forums and social media

Summed it up perfectly Tuesday night for me on the tv commentary.

At 2-0 up Towns manager Darrel Clarke was still barking out orders from the touch line.

Meanwhile Blackpool manager Neil Critchley was stood watching in silence with his arms folded.

Now tell me it’s not the manager at fault?

Exactly, who’s bringing the players in

Fair point

People slate Connolly but he plays with passion and throws his body on the line to intercept shots. There are undoubtably more skilful players but we miss his combatative side

Critch has to coached them to play against “thugball” instead of football.

We get overwhelmed too easily.
We cannot beat “thugball” with football.
The teams lower down just swamp our players as we play out from the back.
We are not quick enough, nor precise with our passing …
Until we are, we need something like 442 and an attacking mind set, without losing the back four defensive shape.
Not needed against the top half teams who play football and tend to provide an exciting game … mostly.

IMO…
