Managers..

Good post. I agree and realistically their isn't anyone that springs to mind at the moment. Most of the fans who are calling for his sacking now are fickle. Blackpool
hopefully will start winning again most of them will be singing his name again.
The silence on this thread speaks volumes.

Too many people quick to jump on the bandwagon without any real solution to the problem.

Dobbie to step in and manage alongside the existing recruitment team until the end of the season, he would have the fans backing instantly and is getting good results already so would be a competent pair of hands. Hey we’re going down with Appleton so what harm could it do?

SS needs the answer not this forum. We speculate and the rest is up to him. But it needs a lift and that could be anyone at the moment

Seems we have a lot of professionals when it comes to the daily running on football clubs and the sacking of managers etc..

So I’d just like to know - instead of everyone spouting their “Appleton Out” nonsense - Who, logically and realistically, is going to come to Blackpool?
Most out of work managers who want a payday at our level. What's the worst that can happen? Get sacked and get your contract paid up. Steve Bruce would bite your hand off. 😂

I think people need to realise how we ended up with Michael Appleton?! There was a reason.

Out of work so no compo ✅
Cheap wage (probably why it’s a weird looking 4 year structured deal) ✅
Happy to work on a tight budget ✅
Best player going to be sold ✅
Finish 21st in League and job safe ✅

That’s the script as I see it.

Appointing someone who has only been coaching for a year or two and never managed at this level at a crucial time in the club’s history would be absolute madness.

Roy Hodgson, Neil Warnock, Big Sam, Martin O'Neill or any other pensioner, who's looking to live in Lytham for 4 years 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
If the p*ss chuckers sack David Moyes, perhaps he'll take the job, as he already lives there 🤣
We know from the past, that we don't have a long queue of applicants.

Speak for yourself…Dobbie would be a huge step backwards at this moment in time.

Perhaps therein lies the problem, Appleton is a league 1 manager at best and it shows. If we want to be an established championship club we need to start acting like one.

We’re told he’s only a head coach and we have a strong back room team, but currently we’re going backwards as it is, something needs to change the direction. Maybe a good January window will do this, who knows…

There are literally hundreds out of work coaches and working assistants who would jump at the chance to come to us.
Can I name them could I fuck as apart from the usual crowd no one can.

Will they be better then MA who knows could be worse but all this trouble filling the role it's utter bull no club in the football pyramid has any problems.

Stephen Dobbie has had a good career & is now learning his trade as a coach with 17/18 yrs players. To place him in charge of BFC would be a big mistake IMO. MA has the credentials to get us out of this if the board back with some quality players this month.

So what happens if they are worse?

Do all the fans throw their dummies out the pram like they have with MA?

I think you’ve missed the point where I mentioned wages.

None of them managers are going anywhere near us.. not for 5k a week anyway!

What happens if there better?

Do fans get behind him?
We got Critch on crap wages and he's miles ahead of the other two Sadler employed.

I've got to the point now I seriously couldn't give a toss if they keep MA or get rid but I'm preparing myself for Lge1 football next season whatever happens.

Critchley was an unknown.

If the club are serious about sustaining championship status, which I don’t think we are by the way, then an unknown won’t suffice, I’m afraid.

4 points out of a possible 27, poor performances and a nine game run that has seen us win no games. As for your comment
"Who logically and realistically, is going to come to Blackpool?"
Do you really want Crappleton to take us down to league 1?

Then get someone out of Lge1/2 this blind faith of Appleton that we can't get someone better or available has to be one of the biggest load of shite ever.
MA 8th longest serving manager in the Championship says it all and not a single club had any problems changing.

As I've posted not bothered either way never been in the anti Appleton camp but this bloke is very poor at times.

The second that the Club start to take any real serious notice of the fickle on this board, the Club will be in trouble.

This side of the board is fast becoming as hysterical and childish as the o/t side!
The other forum is a tranquil lake of calm intellect and well reasoned polemic compared with the Bash Street Kids' rantings on here.

How does this comment make sense 🤣?

I asked who people would want, realistically, to take over us should he be sacked. And you asked me if I’m happy if we get relegated? 🤣

If they can get an experienced manager, like Warnock, until the end of the season, that would make sense. Yes salary would be much higher than we would pay a permanent replacement, but if he kept us up, it’d be worth it.

I'm amazed Wigan and Luton managed to find someone (neither are bigger clubs than us) considering Appleton apparently is the only manager in existence. There are hundreds of coaches in the Prem who would love the chance to manage a championship club I'm sure. The key thing is that the club would need to do a proper search this time, and do their homework instead of (imo) lazily appointing an out of work former employee. No one had heard much of Critchley before he joined.
There is still very much a small club mentality on here that we really need to shed asap. Anyone would think we were a poor national league club that no-one would touch with a barge pole.

It’s nothing to do with our size. It’s the fact 2 out of 3 appointments have been poor appointments and all 3 have been on scrape the barrel wages.

Which to me, shows a small club mentality from the board. Either that or we’re skint.
