Mariette loaned to Guisley

Luke has gone to Guisley for the rest of the season.
Positives - They're currently 6th in the Northern Prem, winning more than they lose, so he'll have to earn his place in the side.
- Managed by former Pool midfielder Andy Welsh.
Negative - He's been on loan at this level before at Curzon Ashton and Macclesfield, so is this a progressive move for the lad?

Still a better standard and more game time than we can give him. Still might make the grade

No surprise. Most of our Development Squad seem to get their development elsewhere these days. Not sure why we have one to be honest.

Good luck though Luke.

If the young players are good enough then successive loans progress then up the divisions as has happened with Apter.

Ultimately, these young players find their level so if Luke is at Guiseley then that will be the right place for him at this point in time.

If he was better than that or ready for a challenge higher than that then he would be elsewhere.

What I have seen of Luke impressed me and I think he has a future here if he continues to improve. First team football is always better than Development Squad game time so good luck to him.

Look at kids that played midweek for Liverpool. Both on loan in L1 and were up there in the best players last season at Bolton and Bristol Rovers.

If they can cut on two leagues lower and really shine, then they’ve got a chance. Apter is a fine example. Also nearly all of our loan ‘stars’ have built a nice career for themselves whereas those that struggled I can’t think of many who have gone on to be Prem stars?

Our other kids haven’t gone out on loan and really torn it up. Suggests they’ll struggle to make the grade.
