Marvin

Great defender.
Passing?.....
Like I said, it looked to me as if he's been getting coached on his options passing forward. Likewise Keogh has been trying to pick a pass more often into midfield from what I've seen so far. Is this coaching/training, or is it because suddenly (at last) there are more options available in the middle third?

I genuinely think if an offer came in for Marv which was accepted that the fanbase would go in to meltdown! It maybe reflects where we are as a club that Marvin, Grimshaw and maybe Connolly aside that everyone seems quite disposable at the moment.

I think every player at every club is up for sale ' at the right price'. The more important 'spine of the team' players are more valuable to the club I'd agree. It's no coincidence that Grimshaw and Marvin have recently signed long contracts.

Don't know what all the fuss is about Madine....he's well passed his prime, too slow and imo should be moved on ...as for first on team sheet wouldn't be anywhere near the top eleven.

If you want to get the ball to the feet of the forwards in the final third, get it up to Madine who can take and protect the ball, then lay it off. If you also want a man who will keep going until he drops - again, Madine. If you want to kill time at the end of a game, let Madine take the ball into the corner and keep it there. If you want to worry the opposition defence without risking Marv coming too far forward - Madine. If you want some assistance for Marv and Keogh when defending corners against big forwards - Madine.
