MATT WILLIAMS

I know he's not everyone's cup of tea due to his time here under the Oystons but in my opinion is the ideal person to come in and sort this shambles out. Gained masses of experience since having been CEO at Shrewsbury and his current role at Burnley more than qualifies him to shake the club down and prepare us for next season and beyond. He won't be cheap but lives locally still has an emotional connection to the club and I think would be a breath of fresh air and put us back on a proper footing.

He was Jack of all trades under the Oyston regime and did a sterling job under the most trying of circumstances, I'd suggest he's far better equipped now to handle our current crisis with the experince gained than he was even then, if Simon is staying then in my opinion he needs to get rid of Mansford and bring in someone of Matt's calibre. The mess of this season lies firmly at Mansford's door and needs to be addressed ... All in my humble opinion of course ..

Not for me. We need to move on from all these ex-employees. There are other good people available without baggage.
What baggage ? He was an employee of the Oystons taking wages and paying his mortgage - I dont remember anybody complaining about him when we got to the Premier League which he was part of ...

Not sure this would be the best solution. Matt did a great job, from the outside looking in, under the Oyston’s and I have no doubt that he is good at what he does. He was just the right man at the right time, I just don’t think that is the case now.

I don’t think there is an argument if he’d leave Burnley to come back, as it is a step up in terms of job title. If the package was right I’m sure he’d be here, but as already said, let’s move away from past employees (unless it’s Ian Evatt and/or Steve Thompson).

Fascinated to know why Matt is seen as better qualified than a guy who went out and qualified as a solicitor, worked in the industry as a football agent and has run four football clubs in two countries?

I know Matt, he’s a nice enough fella when he’s in the right mood and he certainly helped paper over some of the cracks when Karl was in charge. Let’s not assume that makes him qualified to be CEO.

Was Karl's right hand man
Why on earth would he give up a cushy ,number in good pay at a PL club to come here with more pressure and less pay, would you?
I know Matt .... Not saying I've discussed this directly but he likes a challenge has a fondness for the club a young family, lives locally and is superbly equipped to take us to another level. Yes, I think he would come for the right package ...

Matt returning would be brilliant for BFC, and a definite step up from BM based on his performance so far…..
BUT - he his now back in the Prem with Burnley and, as with player contracts, I imagine his package will be structured accordingly.
So probably out of our price range - or maybe not, based on rumoured package BM is on. !!!

Yes, if I didnt want to travel to Burnley everyday (been there done that), had a young family and an exisiting affection and passion for the club and was now better qualified and more experienced to make a difference. Of the course the package needs to be right but if we are to believe what Ben is on then it's within the realms of possibility in my opinion.

The man's at a bigger and rather more successful club than us. He lives close to Burnley and does not support Blackpool - why does anyone think he would move?
Honestly move on people

He lives on the Fylde Coast and I've known him nearly 20 years ... Educated Guess 😉

Last time I checked Burnley wasn't a million miles away, it's hardly a huge commute. Premier league team v a badly run league one team. Not a tough choice for an Oldham fan

Well he did turn up on here at odd hours threatening posters for his boss which was probably outside of his remit...
He also warned one or two posters to be careful with what they put as they put ... Others also know what other help he gave under the Oyston but post Williams tenure ... He did more good than bad for a number on here ..

This is not a sensible option. Let’s move on from the Oyston years. Matt did good things in his role but he’s still a man who was happy being at Koko and Rapeys side.

The world is full of talented people who can administrate and lead. We don’t need to regurgitate an old employee in an admin role.

Players and managers you can build a case for a return but do we really need Oystons oppo back here?

On the subject perhaps it's time to Bring Tango monkey back instead of that bear
Have you not noticed these days some people are offended by something the moment they wake up in the morning?

So thats a no on that one and better to play safe with a pretend Bear.🧐

We met him twice in Blackpool stores & found him to be ignorant & rude.
We also tried to hold a conversation with him at a reserve game at Fleetwood FC - same response from him.
As lifelong BFC fans being met with that attitude from a club official really stank.
He's an Oystonite & hopefully SS won't want him near the club.
Move on & leave it to Simon to recruit the right person for the job.

I'm guessing Glassman is the same bloke on the Facebook forums commenting about knowing him and messaging him? I have had a similar experience to you. Found him to be rude, unapproachable and talked down to people. Much the same personality as Karl Oyston. And I also remember him aligning himself with that lot over the fans. It's a no from me.

He’s already been a CEO and is currently COO at a Premier League Club. He also knows Blackpool FC , lives locally and has a track record of success…. He was also very knowledgeable and played a pivotal role in recruitment and maximising performance on a low budget.

He’d absolutely be at the top of my list if we ever needed to fill the CEO role in the future.

Certainly not recently commented about messaging or even knowing him on any FB page as far as I can remember .. Last time I spoke to him was after the Burnley game..

I’m torn on this one. The bowlheaded pig farmer told me “Matt thinks like me”. But then again a High Court judge told me that the bowlheaded pig farmer was an unreliable witness,

I had a pretty good relationship with Matt for a few years and he was always very decent and never rude or ignorant, the opposite in fact. If Sadler wanted a bang on replacement for BB then he would be my choice. Offer him the CEO role on the right money and I'm pretty sure he'd come back.
