MAXWELL AGAIN!!!

Husbands fault, he's had a shocker. Been awful last few games. GET HIM OFF!.
How do you work that out?
Husband is on the left side of defence and there were 2 Luton players who dropped back when the ball was played in.
Unfortunately (and naively) none of our defenders followed them back and they had acres of space.
I’ll go back to what I am always saying; if they put defenders on the posts at set pieces that goal could have been prevented.
All the team have played well and just that slight lapse cost us the lead.
Same as second half please Stephen.

Almost every shot across him like ends up in the net.
I think the outfield players should have closed it down. We should have dealt with it before any shot.

However his positioning looks awful, far too close to that side. He should be a yard the other way for me so he can still easily reach shots that side but isn't leaving half an open net on the other.

You can see when the ball is mid air here he's still way too far over for me.

Its a common flaw in his game and for 2 years almost now I have been questioning his ability to stop anything that's diagonally across him.

Maybe we could try and stop this pathetic 'Blame Culture' that seems to have spread through our fanbase like a cancer this season and allow the lads to play the game without fear of recrimination. It's an absolutely toxic environment for any Football Club and it's something we have to try and change...

"Was it Maxwell's Fault?" I read... Yes, that's right, the 'Maxwell Haters' have already sensed blood.. We're 1-1 Away from home, it's only Half-Time and already, they're sharpening their knives... They're lining up ready to tell us all how they were right, to call him names "Flapswell" it is... Encouragement, Support, Playing without Fear is out of the window...

Then next up it's Husband.. "He was to blame!!" ... And of course, it's on the back of a poor header on Friday.... Let's get him hung, drawn and quartered too... Another fantastic servant over the last few years.. Lat's kick him in the knackers...

Anyone else we can think of folks???

I would suggest the fact he gave a needles foul away that led to the goal it was his fault.
And would suggest the fact that as a professional footballer that gets paid good money to kick and trap a football, the second goal was also his fault.. however third goal not down to him.

Why don't you do those figures on FLappy instead of trying to justify your flawed argument (yet another one)?
I do wonder how many points and goals per game it is now with Grimmy vs your Flappy pal please enlighten me.

Must confess, yes I'm on your hit list. However also have to say in mitigation Husband has been bad last couple of games and no better today. And it was him that gave the free kick away in the last couple of seconds of time added on in the first half that led to the equaliser.
After that only one outcome...

Look at Nelson......he's all over the place. Can't blame Maxwell for that. And Husband for the 2nd was comical.
It happens far too often he gets beat by shots/headers across him and for almost two seasons I have been commenting on this flaw in his game.

His starting position is wrong far too often.

He has to cover that near post though, he can't be central of goal given where the ball is.
Keepers can't cover every possible angle, the nexts are 24 foot wide.

A needless free kick, too slow to close down, and not brave enough to leave CJ up at the halfway line at free kicks and corners. My pet hate is that

we pull everyone back for set pieces, and as you could see today the opposition surrounds the goalkeeper, making it almost impossible for

them to come out and claim the ball.

What's the point of bringing Bowler back for a corner? He's never headed a ball while I've been watching him.

I’m not Maxwell’s biggest fan, but there’s no way you could blame him for the first goal.

Where was the defence? Allowed him time & space to pick his spot.

Grimmy might have got to the 2nd goal cross, but I guess we’ll never know.

Probably should play as a wingback or wide midfield player as he isn't the best defensively at this level

I like him though will only get better
Me too mate....and I'm sure with a bit of decent coaching and a better defensive set up, he'll come on leaps and bounds.. In fairness (and I mentioned it this week) our fullbacks failing to cut out crosses and not getting tight enough for shots has been a bit of an ongoing theme this season.
