Maxwell to Huddersfield

If he plays for them get them in your BTTS bets as your guaranteed 1 of the 2 teams to score before a ball is kicked.....

Even if Grimshaw's stats were 1 in 6 games we would have stopped up had he played more games.
What you reckon mate? Would have got playoffs? Super Grimshaw. Stick him up front.

3 managers (including our current one) preferred Maxwell. He was a leader and a decent shot stopper. Some of the stick he got was embarrassing on our fans part - particularly the Cardiff game.

Have I said that?
Your argument was flawed the moment you compared them like for like.
The stats don't lie and had Grimshaw played the same amount of games Maxwell did we would have stayed up on the goalkeeping stats alone.
Grimshaw was a clean sheet ever 3rd game when dropped and then kept 3 clean sheets in 5 when restored.
If you can't admit Maxwell was a liability in most games you need a checkup.

Are you demented? The goalkeeping stats alone? You understand there’s more to a game of football than the opposition shooting at a goalkeeper don’t you?

I’ll stick with the opinion of 3 managers over yours cheers pal

Of course, there is more like the defence has more confidence in a confident keeper and Dobs suffered 1 game with him in nets so that's one fairly competent manager, one that was stupid enough to drop him in the first place, and a manager that didn't have a clue about the squad and went with the flow.

Maxwell was really poor last year and teams worked him out that he was poor at dealing with crosses/corners and would put players up against him. Nearly every fan could see this apart from the two planks we had as managers.

You're factually incorrect. Clearly. Grimshaw was number 1 until Archer took his head off.

Maxwell deteriorated through the season. He just lost the plot , positioning ,commanding his area etc.and wasn’t even making attempts in some games. Nobody will know how super manager Appleton preferred him to Grimmy but he did and without pointing the finger ,things went “tits up” .

Grimshaw has a lighter torso and longer legs than Maxwell. Maxwell would dive horizontally and drop like a lead weight.

Grimshaw's longer legs and lighter torso helps him spring into the top corners of the goal.

Grimshaw should of been the number one goalie every game last season. Whether that would of been enough to keep us up I don't know.

One standing upright the other nearly bent double kicking the ball, bit hard to compare.

It is embarrassing blaming Maxwell for our relegation. There was two bad managers and a squad of players that didn't perform mainly down to the two bad managers.
He can be blamed for a couple of clangers, but how many awful back passes that led to goals was there. Inept dam right awful defending along with some of the worst finishing and indecision in front of goal. To make Maxwell a scapegoat is to bury your head in the sand at just how bad the whole kit and kaboodle was last season.

It’s getting a bit silly this post, comparing two full grown men’s legs, torso’s and height. Nobody on here can be critical of a professional athletes body comp. I’m sure he’s in better nick than everyone on here.

Funny how Maxwell is always being touted for higher league clubs than us - Everton last year and Huddersfield this year - are they seeing something we don't?

He didn't go to Everton and he won't be Huddersfields goalkeeper so your point doesn't make any sense does it?

Think it was The Totally Inept Duo Appleton and McCarthy who got us relegated !
Yes, for ignoring the blindingly obvious that the stats clearly proved Maxwell was shite.

He should have been dropped after his two assists in the Watford game.

simonised people are allowed an opinion as are you (we get you don’t like him you don’t need to ram it down peoples necks) He was a bit shaky last season but the season before he single handedly got us promoted
Wish him all the best. Good move for him if true

We’ve got grimmy now he’s our future. No need for slagging our past players for moving on

Some people make statements they can't/won't back up and all I have done is respond to them if that's ok by you.

I won't be looking at the ignored content again so don't waste your time mentioning me again in the future as it's time in your life you will never get back.

Great news

So you’re saying, we went down because the defence had no confidence in Maxwell and he’s entirely to blame for their short comings? Or is any blame at all being shared?
You're factually incorrect. Clearly. Grimshaw was number 1 until Archer took his head off.
I’ll stick Neil warnock in there for a Maxwell supporter instead then. The mind boggles.

You said we would have stopped up had Maxwell played less, so your point goes a little deeper than ‘Maxwell is a liability’. We have a lot of new era, toys out the pram sort of fans, don’t we?!

No, and this is probably where you're just not listening. There's a long list why we got relegated, but you're incorrect that Critch chose Maxwell over Grimshaw. Because that's not true. But we got relegated by a slim margin and the persistence with maxwell and how poor he was playing at the time is a one of a list of factors as to why we went down.

Maxwell wasn't our best goalkeeper and he was in stinking form. An in form Maxwell is a superb keeper, but he still isn't as good as Grimshaw.

Fair play to Maxwell if his agent can get him a Championship contract….. personally thought he would end up at Morecambe or Fylde.

What are you on about, I’m not listening? I’m talking to this Simonized who yesterday said Maxwell’s lack of clean sheets got us relegated. Pay attention son.
