but, could Luke Garbutt play right full back?
This is desperate now.... about to kick off in the championship and we might play a LB at RB.but, could Luke Garbutt play right full back?
What nationality is the rest of your body? Both my feet are sweaty, I can play either side.
Spot on. Last season people were really worried about c/back at beginning of the season. Then we landed Ballard and Gretarsson before the window closed, both of whom we had been chasing since early in the close season. And Marvin settled in after being labelled useless by some on here. It's all under control, believe it or not, Connolly will fill in til the right player lands. He's a very determined defender. Then we will sign a right sided defender who can get forward, the best we can get. Have we forgotten that last season we gradually resolved everything. It will be much more difficult in a much more expensive league, but that's life, we will do our best. That's all you can do. Will it be enough to stay up? I reckon it will, yeah.
I was thinking that. Bit of a hope over expectation though really.I don't know why, but I have a strange feeling that something will happen similar to the Wes / Leicester first game.
I trust SS / NC to resolve this RB situation. Even if I am wrong, it is always better for one's mental health to be an optimist.
The thing is, if Turton was still here, loads would be saying he’s not good enough for the Championship. The club offered Turton a new contract. Whether it was a token gesture PR exercise intended for him to turn down I'm not sure but they definitely said he'd been offered one. And so would have looked silly if he'd signed it had they had no intention of wanting him to still be here.
The link has gone with them faffing about with the website [https://www.blackpoolfc.co.uk/news/2021/june/retained-list-announced/] but the words used were 'Ollie Turton has respectfully declined the offer of a new deal at Bloomfield Road and agreed a pre-contract with another club'.
He couldn't wait around to see if he'd be offered new terms with talks on hold until we knew what league we were going to be in as he was in a better position this time to sort his future out.
A few were saying he wasn't good enough for league one but on a one year retainer, which considering the only thing that he didn't have a go at was goalkeeper, I thought he offered good value. It looks like he knew that too and that he'd done his stint. We'll probably end up with a season of sneering posts about him every time something happens or if he's on the bench for Huddersfield but it's done now.The thing is, if Turton was still here, loads would be saying he’s not good enough for the Championship.
He’s turned into Cafu since he’s left.
We’re going to bring in a right back in this window, granted we already should have but might just mean a couple of games are somebody filling in. At least we know we’ll be actively doing it.
