Absolutely agree & good initiative really from the club appointing him, if we appointed some young coach with no experience people would have said it was a terrible choice if relegated and ask why not someone experienced especially at keeping teams up , at least with an experienced well known manager it shows they tried somewhatNo one available would have done any better IMO.
Very trueAny new coach/manager can only work with the players available and if those players are not good enough at this level then it is just rinse and repeat.
Dobbie has absolutely no experience managing a team anywhere near the level of the Championship, he would be a terrible appointment. You’re basing his coaching ability on the fact he was a good player for us, it’s ridiculousSafe to say that MM has added nothing.
I‘d be inclined to let Dobbie take charge of the remaining matches.
A lot will disagree, but I'm completely with you. He played under Holloway with the mantra of 'if you score 3, we'll score 4', I'd like to think he'd be much the same. Doing a decent job with the development squad as well and who knows, might give some of the young lads a chance to impress... couldn't do much worse than the current man in charge, surely!Safe to say that MM has added nothing.

And that one shot on target, was a deflection! What I would say is, is that there is a way to go down and it isn't playing like this. 1 shot on target in the last 2 games is embarrassing.
We would have been better giving Warnock the chance, if we were going for an experienced out of work short term appointment. No one available would have done any better IMO.
There's no benefit in being revisionist. With a good squad McCarthy would get results. We would have been better giving Warnock the chance, if we were going for an experienced out of work short term appointment.
No. I’m basing it on his set up with the dev team, his positive demeanour and intention to keep the ball down and get at the opposition.Dobbie has absolutely no experience managing a team anywhere near the level of the Championship, he would be a terrible appointment. Well it wouldn't be the tea lady AND Welsh Phil. Not exactly a marriage made in heaven.1 scabby win does not make a season

Yes, it’s a gamble but if the experienced alternative = hoofball, no shots on target, defeat after defeat and our best players on the bench, I’d rather have the tea lady or Welsh Phil in charge.
No-one else will be coming in at this point and he already understands the squad better than MM.
Okay. The tea lady.Well it wouldn't be the tea lady AND Welsh Phil. Not exactly a marriage made in heaven.
Whereas Grayson and Appleton and Mccarthy have championship experience so remind me again how well we did under them.Dobbie has absolutely no experience managing a team anywhere near the level of the Championship, he would be a terrible appointment. Critchley had no experience and he didn’t do too badly.Whereas Grayson and Appleton and Mccarthy have championship experience so remind me again how well we did under them.
All successful managers have to start somewhere and that is not non league football.
FFS, Alex Furguson, Bob Paisley and Brian Clough rolled into one would find the managers job difficultAre only chance of staying up was getting a attacking coach. With the players we have available. Not a manger who favors set prices and defending. Especially when are tallest player is Nelson at 6 foot. The board have no clue when it comes to hiring coaches
The Blackpool squad available to McCarthy is better than the squad available to both Critch and Appleton. What has McCarthy added in terms of coaching, organisation and management? Is McCarthy getting the best out of the players? I think McCarthy is in real danger of losing the dressing room as the players surely can’t enjoy having to play like this especially when we keep losing. You do what you can with the players available. What is available is not good enough.
We've just come off a hard fought win. We were up for it. However, tonight our limitations were exposed and it became clear to the players the longer the game went on. This was not McCarthy's fault. He put Bowler on, who was fed only one decent ball whilst he was on the pitch. Yates was fed nothing. The Blackpool squad available to McCarthy is better than the squad available to both Critch and Appleton. You can't know that. Recruitment is obviously a huge factor but playing what we have in a way that allows us to pass, keep the ball, create chances etc.No one available would have done any better IMO.
I can’t disagree with this more tbh.I don’t think Pep or even Arteta could motivate this squad as it’s simply not good enough by some distance.
This squad will struggle in league one next season just wait and see.
We also need to ditch Mansford and Co as the club has gone backwards at an alarming rate since they came onboard.
Really?I can’t disagree with this more tbh.
This squad is good enough.
The problem is the last two managers have been absolutely dreadful and the opposite of what the club needed.
Appleton out of his depth and no personality.
McCarthy playing some of the worst football I’ve seen in a long time.
Players aren’t exempt from blame but they’ve had two really poor managers.
Surely you watched the game tonight and thought that most of these players just aren't up to it though? Maxwell kicking it like he'd never kicked a ball before, Thompson's positioning and being closed down unnecessarily, the whole team not being able to make more than three passes before making a mistake? Blackburn could go from back to front with 10-20 passes even under pressure.I can’t disagree with this more tbh.

We have a few good flair players on loan but most of our contracted players just aren't Championship level.
I think the players have struggled all season with two coaches who’ve taken away their confidence either due to demeanour or negative tactics, and now they’re suffering as a result.Really?
The likes of Carey, Hamilton, Dougall, Thompson, Lavery, would all struggle in a bottom half league one team.
They play because we have no one else any better.
Any wonder we are 4 points adrift right now.
I'm not sure. I think last season they overachieved and this season we have just seen their true level. Confidence can play a big part in football but you go through times with it and without it and if the quality is there you can get through the bad times. Unfortunately we don't have that quality in abundance. I don't think there will be a fight on to poach any of our players in the summer.I think the players have struggled all season with two coaches who’ve taken away their confidence either due to demeanour or negative tactics, and now they’re suffering as a result.
Some aren’t good enough. Most are. The difference this season has been belief.
