Anyone watch the Play Off final between Gills and Man City.
Gills were coasting to the Championship 3-1 up with a couple minutes left.

Talk about Karma!

I was at Old Trafford watching the Cricket (Australia v West Indies in the World Cup) that day and a couple of City fans were sat near us and getting pelters as the scores came through, I just felt sorry for them as they obviously couldn’t get tickets for the footy game.

Someone told them that City had equalised and they didn’t believe them. It was only when the Stadium announcer reported that City had actually won the game on Pens, that the misery on their faces lifted to looks of pure joy and they went Imrie Bananas!

Remember a league cup game around 1966 when we beat them 5-2.

We faced 4th division Darlington the next round and lost 2-1.
Top flight club then.

1966 beat em 6-2, then beat em 3-1 again in the league cup 1969

Was it Gillingham when we didn't give the ball back after they kicked it out and we scored straight away?

Remember that game so well and it was that weird thing of the crowd not instantly celebrating and weird delayed celebration. Actually felt a bit embarrassed we'd not given it back tbh.

Yep, it was John Murphy who scored. A couple of minutes later their centre half tried to elbow Murphy when challenging him for a high ball.
Fortunately he missed otherwise he would probably have seriously injured him . Worthington ,our Manager , was unrepentant later.

I remember Worthington showing no remorse and the fact he was so unpopular meant few backed him. I remember a whole page in the Gazette criticising him.

yep, Peter Taylor going mad deep into injury time when they put the ball out for an injury and we didn't give it back and crossed it straight into box to get an equaliser.

Caused grief for years!!!!

Mainly the 3 3 home draw in the late 80s(?). 0 0 at half time ,we scored 3 quick goals to lead 3 0 then it was their
turn and they scored 3 !

wifes uncle left early at 3-0 and heard a cheer go up when he got in his car
when he pulled up on his drive his neighbour said you were luck y he said why 3-0 up but think they scored 1 as i left his neighbour told him no drew 3-3 lol
