Michael Carrick

I certainly wouldn’t rule it out. Depends on how his vision would fit in with the clubs future aims.

Zero charisma. Go for someone who’s achieved something whether it’s Evatt or Manning, the Cheltenham guy or as a dark horse Mark Bonner at Cambridge. I presume it’s not the one who used to play for us but he got promotion for them, consolidated last season, won at Newcastle in the cup all on not much of a budget.

Was a great player, very very underrated but wouldn’t know how he’d do as a Manager whereas there’s a potential candidate who has won trophy after trophy sat there in West London

Maybe didn’t interview well?
Not good enough for Lincoln 🤔

Maybe he was after a bigger salary than they were prepared to pay, or he decided to wait for a better club to come along.

Who knows, he could be good, or he might not be. He would be a punt and I don’t think the club would want to make a risky appointment when the priority is staying in the championship.

I’d expect he’d apply? Similiar pedigree to Critchley. Could the same gamble work twice? Good contacts and much better known in the game than Critchley and was unbeaten when he managed United for 3 games.
I said this on another post. I’d take him in a heart beat, even if he wants good money.

23 years after a one month loan spell as a Swindon Town player, could Michael Carrick now be set to return to the club as manager?

The former midfielder, 40, is now as short as 1/2 with BetVictor in the next Swindon manager odds.

The Robins are searching for a new boss following the exit of Ben Garner who left the League Two club after their play-off penalty heartache, in order to jump up into League One with Charlton.
