I’ll say it again - we messed up big time not taking Duff on last Summer. From memory he didn’t even get past the first interview stage. Doing a fine job at Barnsley and putting his imprint on it. I think he’s the style of manager who would have done well with us. Probably swapping places with us over the summer too.

Hes been impressive at Barnsley alright, but that doesn’t mean he would have been successful here it doesn’t always work that way unfortunately

Duff or Rosenior would have fit the model and been an understandable appointment. No idea why they went away from the model and for Appleton! A manager who last finished 17th in league one and had never done it at Championship level. His selling point was that he could get in loans. That has been a disaster too.

Surely instead of loaning so many young players like Fiorini, we are better to bring them in on permanent deals like we did with Bowler. Released by Everton because he wasn't a prem player and let him develop with us and sell on for millions.
