I can’t wait to see Mick’s starting X1 at Southampton tomorrow, I haven’t a clue what team he will select and how he will use his substitutes. There is no doubt in my mind that the squad McCarthy now has at his disposal is stronger than the squad Appleton had at his disposal for most of the season. Appleton averaged a point a game over the season, McCarthy will have to do better than that if we are to stay up. I really hope this short term appointment works for BFC but Appleton for all of his shortcomings knew the strengths and weaknesses of this current squad and it was a very brave decision by the BFC Board to sack Appleton halfway through the Jan transfer window. I am 100% behind Mick McCarthy and pray he doesn’t lose his first two Championship games as no other Manager of a Championship club has ever lost 10 consecutive games in the Championship before.Yes, whatever happens I'm happier with Big Mick in charge
