BollocksNah no pressure in it. We are as good as down. A new manager has a free hit end everything to gain.

Blackpool set to appoint Mick McCarthy as manager until end of season
Football Insider sources reveal that Blackpool are set to appoint Mick McCarthy as manager, with a deal agreed until the end of the season.www.footballinsider247.com
Again though, could be right or could be from nixon, then the sun, then the websites follow and its picked up as a separate source and gains more traction. A bit like Rosenior seemed to.Blackpool set to appoint Mick McCarthy as manager until end of season

Stolen from my thread....
Really. I'll back whoever but doesn't inspire me and I can't see it inspiring people.Absolutely fantastic appointment. This is what we need. A proper manager.
Imagine the likes of Patino and Carey. They’ll be shitting bricks when big Mick unleashes fury.Really. I'll back whoever but doesn't inspire me and I can't see it inspiring people.
However if he gets results then yes.
But how does he fit our players?
They're far too small for his normal style, or what you'd expect of him.Imagine the likes of Patino and Carey. They’ll be shitting bricks when big Mick unleashes fury.
He will bring in some big units. It won’t be pretty but he will judged on results. Currently we lack talent and physicality. McCarthy will find it easier addressing the physicality aspect. They're far too small for his normal style, or what you'd expect of him.
As I’ve said a thousand times. Who has been super successful at Cardiff? No one.
So more changes required rather than utilise what we have, sounds expensive and a weird strategy. He will bring in some big units. It won’t be pretty but he will judged on results. Currently we lack talent and physicality. McCarthy will find it easier addressing the physicality aspect.
If it is him and we are served up shite football but stay up then who cares? If its him ill be honest, it's really really depressing and is absolutely not the sort of football I want to watch
To be fair, they had a decent team back then compared to these days. Super Kevin Sheedy. He got Ireland to the last 16 in the World Cup.
If it's turgid football until summer to keep us up then so be itIf its him ill be honest, it's really really depressing and is absolutely not the sort of football I want to watch
MeIf it is him and we are served up shite football but stay up then who cares?
Ian Ormondroyd I heardMcCarthy will bring in big Tony Cascarino to play up top alongside Madine.
Why? Would you sacrifice staying up as long as we play good to watch football?
The kind of football I, and many others want to see just now, is the kind that keeps us from going down.If its him ill be honest, it's really really depressing and is absolutely not the sort of football I want to watch
It doesn't need to be one or the other. We can stay up playing attractive football and can go down playing turgid hoof ball. I think he would be a bad appointmentWhy? Would you sacrifice staying up as long as we play good to watch football?
I think Sadler will live or die by this decision. It is already not going down well so if it doesn't work then I think he will proactively look for a buyer for the club.
A brave decision and a stroke of genius if it works, a work of madness if it doesn't.
Good luck Mick, you're going to need it!!
Yep good post AlfAs a short term appointment it's brilliant. I'd like to think there's no chance of him being able to take it in the long term, and that we most likely have the next man lined up. Believe what you want about the board but he does not fit any of our long term goals, besides the biggest one, which is being very good at remaining in the Championship. Therefore he will only be hired for that one reason, and somebody else will have to come in and tick the other boxes.
The football is not going to be 2010 Ian Holloway, that's for sure. But solid defending and effective use of set pieces, in the short term, will feel like watching Barcelona in comparison to the last few months. Here is a man who is very good at winning football games and built a successful career out of it.
You can say it's a similar type of appointment to Grayson and say he's yesterday's man, but let's be honest, Grayson had very little success at this level and Mick is a higher caliber with a better reputation. Totally different.
Plus, from time to time, he's a funny fucker. I've missed that on Saturday evenings.
Yeah possible, but again nixon is the sun's itk guy, they report others follow. He got the last one wrong.Blackpool to appoint ex-Wolves boss McCarthy as gaffer after Appleton exit
BLACKPOOL are set to turn to former Sunderland and Wolves boss Mick McCarthy as their new manager. The Seasiders are searching for a new manager following the sacking of Michael Appleton on Wednesd…www.thesun.co.uk
It's done ✔ he gets my backing. He will save the club from the drop.
And we could go down playing attractive football too Larry. Unfortunately we are in a relegation battle and we need someone with championship experience and whilst MM will be far from everybody’s 1st choice we all hope he can pull it off in whatever style is necessary, assuming he gets the job of course! It doesn't need to be one or the other.
