We are so weak in midfield that the forwards trying to do both jobs, the defence are the same they are trying to cover both area's we have been short of a strong midfielder for a couple of years as for goal keepers Maxwell dominates the area better in my view.
I am not a Appleton fan but since he took over he has had to make do with the shambles that Critchley left.

Agreed Beesley just isn’t good enough. He’s a league 1/2 average striker, hasn’t the technique to play anywhere else.

Play Thomson at right back allowing Connolly to play in the CDM role. Look how good Sterling was when he went left….. you never know. We can’t just keep trotting out the same shit.

Grimmy
Dom. Marv. Thornily. Hubby
Connolly
Patino. Dougall. Carey
Madine Yates

Bring Poveda and CJ on around 60

Think that's unfair on the lad. He's played three times this season created the goal from his interception against hull and generally got into good positions, should probably have put a couple of chances away, but he's coming back from a long lay off and is very visibly not fully match fit.

Playing him as a winger is the height of absurdity and is likely to highlight flaws in his game as well as reduce his overall impact.

Putting a very left sided player to the point where the player in question literally uses his right foot to remain upright would be madness, we'd be better dropping in the youth player who is a proper right back. Would probably change Patino for poveda to start. Otherwise ok

He needs to play Dougall today. Don’t care what people think of Dougall but you can’t play Patino and Carey as a midfield two.

If Beesley also plays on the wing again, I will make it a New Year resolution to definitely not watch Pool again until Appleton leaves.
Patino and Carey worked really well first half at Hull, people can say what they want Dougall is a League 1 midfielder, there isn't another team in this league that he gets in only ours.

And it was disastrous against Sheff Utd. Do we ignore that?

If Dougall isn’t good enough, neither is Patino. Patino is absolute passenger offering nothing going forward or defensively. Carey at least offers something going forward.

Are you for real. The guys been asked to play more of a midfield role than a striker. He's clearly done his best, lots of effort and ball winning. Could madine play there. ?

Do you actually go to games?

It shows how low the bar has been set when people are looking to Connolly to be our midfield saviour. He's good at certain things but his passing range is very limited.
He might be a temporary answer but he wouldn't be the permanent solution in league 1 definitely not championship.
Decent utility player a good championship defensive substitute.

Yep that's bang on
If Connolly is the answer I honestly don't know what the question is

Yeah been to most this season and had season ticket last season. Stopped going now as it’s pointless as guaranteed defeats and not watching strikers play on the wing.
So who would you play on the wing given we have lost our best 2 and the others have all been injured at some time

A true fan, well done .
I’m too old to give a shit or worry about being a true fan. Deep down I know I am and that’s I care about. Football in general isn’t as entertaining as it used to be. The days of football being on a level playing field are long gone and all a bit boring. Money is gradually ruining it.

I am sorry but you are not a fan at all , if you can’t be bothered to even go to the games. We all know that being a Blackpool fan is difficult , always against clubs with far bigger budgets , but that is what we enjoy , being up against it . How boring must it be to support a top team, like Man City !

I said this before Christmas but was shouted down but surely it makes sense and opens the door for emerging youth players.
It's tempting. However, up to now, MA clearly hasn't wanted to expose Jack to a relegation fight, before he's ready, and especially during a time when the atmosphere in the ground isn't brilliant.
MA will know when the time is right and maybe that time will be today.

You must be on a wind up here.......

Patino has been off it recently (Hull apart) admittedly, but you cannot seriously be comparing the 2 😂

Ones a 19 year old child in his first full season as a professional footballer and will always therefore be more prone to tiredness, loss of form etc not to mention the fact he's almost single handedly carried the hopes of his relegation haunted club and the fans on his shoulders

The other meanwhile is (apparently) an international midfielder who is at the age where he should be at his peak and should be carrying the burden but (through no fault of his own, isn't up to the job) ........

There is quite literally no comparison between the 2........
