Mission to Burnley

Anyone watching it. Just watched 1st episode and is pretty interesting. Didn't realise that the owners are a group of mormons.

Matt Williams popped up a few times.

I watched 2 episodes last night. Best bit was Alan Pace coming out of his daughter's Mormon wedding to discover the Pool have come back from 3-1 down to grab a draw. Also the bits with Matt Williams make you wonder how some people get to where they do. Hard graft and rhino skin is probably the answer.

Are these Mormons looking to set up a Church of Latter Day Clampetts? 🤔

Just watched the 2nd episode, that bit when he comes out of the wedding is classic - looked at his phone and said "I don't understand!" 😂

How good a manager is Kompany? Some people seem to think he's incredible. I've no idea, he obviously did well to change the whole style at Burnley and go straight back up as champions but they did have a huge budget for the Championship, with £46m parachute money. And couldn't beat us in either game despite our shambolic state!

I guess we'll find out more this season. Big one for VK. Does he justify the aura? Will he manage at Champions League level eventually?

This documentary, more than any of the others, shows how the role of manager must have changed dramatically over the years with how much attention to detail they go into with using data for planning and analysis, interactions with the board etc.

Fascinating & enjoyable to watch...despite it being Burnley of course!

Drone camera views of a milltown and then a room containing some Mormons from Salt Lake City, Vincent Kompany, Matt Williams and Craig Bellamy, talking football finances. Weird stuff.

I know it's been many years, but seeing Matt Williams in a context outside of Blackpool still seems weird...

I thoroughly enjoyed it. Shows how difficult club management must be these days and how clueless some of the old sweats must be! Makes you wonder what Critch is like as a gaffa! Softly spoken but driven I’d say!

Great to see the passion from VC and the energy he is able to produce. They didn’t hold back filming the dingles either, funny at times! 🙄

I don’t know about anyone else but I’d love to spend a week in amongst it all. It would change some opinions.

Watched a few Mormon documentaries recently. Not a good look from what I saw but they were more fundamentalists.
