Maybe they invested in Burnley because they misheard people talking about their locals?Anyone watching it. Just watched 1st episode and is pretty interesting. Didn't realise that the owners are a group of mormons.
Matt Williams popped up a few times.
Just watched the 2nd episode, that bit when he comes out of the wedding is classic - looked at his phone and said "I don't understand!"I watched 2 episodes last night. Best bit was Alan Pace coming out of his daughter's Mormon wedding to discover the Pool have come back from 3-1 down to grab a draw. Also the bits with Matt Williams make you wonder how some people get to where they do. Hard graft and rhino skin is probably the answer.
Are these Mormons looking to set up a Church of Latter Day Clampetts?
Ruined his day I think! Probably tested his faith.Just watched the 2nd episode, that bit when he comes out of the wedding is classic - looked at his phone and said "I don't understand!"
The Mormons have a bit of a reputation for marrying their relatives, kindred spirits.Maybe they invested in Burnley because they misheard people talking about their locals?
Drone camera views of a milltown and then a room containing some Mormons from Salt Lake City, Vincent Kompany, Matt Williams and Craig Bellamy, talking football finances. Weird stuff. This documentary, more than any of the others, shows how the role of manager must have changed dramatically over the years with how much attention to detail they go into with using data for planning and analysis, interactions with the board etc.
Fascinating & enjoyable to watch...despite it being Burnley of course!
On the Burnley forum they are marvelling at Matt's expertly blunt dealings with football agents. Little do they know....I know it's been many years, but seeing Matt Williams in a context outside of Blackpool still seems weird...
Remember when Matt had shifted a few pounds .. looks like the lure of a Burnley pie has beaten him!Matt Williams popped up a few times.
