Mobile network advice(SIM only)

The wife and I had a family, SIM only mobile deal with BT (we have BT broadband) and when I reviewed earlier this year they recommended their partner, EE, which we are now using. Good value and cheaper, good download allowances and good reception

Grab yourself a Giff Gaff or Smarty sim....I pay £8 a month for unlimited calls and texts, with 12GB of downloads.

I always buy my phones and never 'rent' them...Currently have an I-Phone 12 pro that I paid £160 off Giff-Gaff
When you add £96 a year for calls/texts etc. that works out at £288 for 3 years

Tesco have an IPhone 14 with similar data at £39.99 for 3 years which is £1,400
If you're being really 'money saving expert'....buy your phone on a 0% credit card and get 12 months to pay it off

Depends on the data you need. I have Sky mobile for a few phones and they give you unlimited calls and texts and I think 2gbpm. The introductory price was £4pm for each, now £6 I think, BUT the data rolls on. We now have a piggy bank of 300+gb which whoever can tap into as and when.

I do similar. Just paid £405 for an iPhone 13 128gb for the wife. Sim only

I find I get 2 to 3 years from the refurb before Apple obsolescence kicks in. However you also get decent trade ins too for your old phone so maybe overall it’s at worst 300 over 2 years.

Lyca are decent for 4g as they use the EE network. I get decent signal in the stadium.

Shit customer service but get past that and 👍

Mick, my package with EE is £18 per month for 2 SIM cards, with 20GB download each and unlimited calls and texts

Depends on how much download you need on your phone. Although I have 20GB I get nowhere near needing anything like that.

I’m on Giff Gaff. The main issue is lack of coverage when you’re in a crowd ie a football match. I tend to get the “where the feck are you?” messages about 30 minutes after FT.

That might be a good thing.

Took me years to save money and just buy a handset and go with a network provider. Never realised how contracts robbed you. Anyway, I get 50GB for £12 a month with Voxi plus free social media and YouTube use which for me is an amazing deal. It's owned by Vodafone.

But I cannot recommend them as getting set up was a fking nightmare taking night after night speaking to John, Jenny, Rita, Nita, Paul, Steve, Nita again and Dave from India. After many bizarre chats it eventually got set up as their website simply doesn't work - and still doesn't. I am due a new handset soon as my current one is on the blink and I am dreading having to deal with them again to get away from them.
