Moral Dilemas

Just read this story ..

"The Blackpool Gazette understands that Luton Town made a couple of bids for the Australian last January, with both being rejected by Blackpool- who were battling at the bottom end of the Championship."

For the sake of the player, should we have let him go or did we do the right thing?

Imagine the outcry if he'd gone. To be honest, last season is a blur now anyway but can't remember him doing that well?

He didn’t, scared to death when given the ball in our half. It went immediately back to where it came. Missesd opportunity for some wedge for him if true.

Had Sadler got rid of Appleton earlier, we'd have used the January window a lot more effectively than we did with another manager in charge. Always comes back to timings for me last season and what SS didn't do rather than did do.

It's not a moral dilema. It's a moral dilemma.

I even had to delete an m because autocorrect changed it to two m's

It's no wonder Kenny was pissed off. He got completely wasted in the chaos of Appleton and MickMc, missed out on the world cup, and missed out on a move to a premier league bound team. Yet he came back this season and got back to his best again. And has reinvigorated his life with a move to Thailand. Fair play.

Not exactly the clubs fault he missed out on the World Cup and a move to premier league bound team unless you think we should of sold just because they wanted him?

He was fucked about by the two managers a fair bit in a system that didn't work - two systems. We made little effective use of him after the offers were made, in MM's hoofathon. I could understand if he was hacked off in the circumstances. He is bound to look back on his career and think "I could have played in a world cup and I could maybe have played in the Premier League, if it wasn't for that ridiculous season of mismanagement."

Maybe, and I suppose with footballers it’s sometimes it’s what clubs want at the time.

Had the deck of cards fell more in his favour Australia would have played a system that suited him meaning he was selected more and if Crichley hadn’t of left he would of continued his good run of form and got a move higher up the football pyramid.
All ifs and buts but I always thought he was quite limited and ponderous at championship level to expect to play in the premiership or international level.

He was a decent Championship player. He showed that in our first season. I doubt he would have featured much for Luton this season, but they are proving very astute at spotting players who can play above their current level, in their very effective system. Australia aren't blessed with great players - he was good enough for their squad, on his 21/22 form. The arrival of Appleton screwed thinngs up at the crucial time.
