More delusion in Sunderland?

What gets me about clubs like Sunderland is that they're willing to take enormous financial risks by paying massive (for league one) wages and transfer fees, but when it comes to managers they never take risks. Appointing Critchley was a risk having never been a manager before, and it's paid off for us and then some. How about they scour the top six academies and find their own Neil Critchley - it's a risk but a much cheaper one.

If they were Championship and not a basket case then yes maybe.
Why don’t they give an exciting Div 2 or even 1 manager a go? Or as you say grab United or City’s academy head.
They’ve both got a decent conveyor belt of great kids coming through who’d join Sunderland as maybe limited chances in the Prem.
 
If there are more deluded fans in the football league than Sunderland I've not heard of em and that includes the Nobbers.

No, 44 replies. Within which 3 people said anything like they should go for Critch. Pretty bloody conclusive, hardly any delusion. People make shit up to suit their own preconceptions.
 
6th in the table with games in hand on the Top two - I think they’re in a decent position and should maybe back their manager rather than the endless circle of wanting him sacked!
