More disappointment and Is this the most boring football to watch ever ?

Well yet another disappointing result , yet Critchley thinks we controlled the game . He maybe right but when you go one nil down and the opposition sit back and let you have the ball and we continually pass it across the back and back wards rather than forward, without any real shots on goal that their keeper had to save . Yes you could say we were allowed to control it by the opposition so we could time waste on their behalf .
Sadly Critchley thinks it’s good entertaining football , his tactics delivered us yet another defeat and has to be the most boring football to watch since the Sam Ellis big boot football days . We are starved of entertaining football so I ask again Critchley please go !👎

In over 60 odd years of watching the Pool and any other team for that, Wingers have always brought pace exitement skill etc to the game, Our current Manager chooses not to employ them apart from Hamilton. His wingback approach for me doesn’t work, teams with lesser ability have nullified us to many times this season. He will learn from this be it good or bad. You need good tools to do a good job !

And Critchley’s a right tool.

When Ollie was here we lost sometimes but we always had a go. This team takes no risks and can’t break with the coaches instructions and surrenders every time with a whimper.

It’s bad to watch and pointless when you lose almost every away game. I’d have more respect if he played four forwards away from home as he would surely pick up a few results.

Sometimes you have to throw caution to the wind especially when you go one down or in a must win game , Critchley is so cautious he only changes like for like and never changes his pattern of play the last two games are a prime example. For goodness sake man throw four forwards on or something that unsettles the opposition ! We may lose another goal but at least we’ve given it a go and just maybe it will work .

Exactly
We're to slow moving the ball, opposition get back, so we arevallowed to pass it round the back. Nothing in the middle areas, it's pathetic.
How we play the ball around at the back is not of itself a problem but that style of play fundamentally depends on moving the ball forward accurately and at speed. One touch and runners providing options..

I can see no evidence that this is being worked on or that the players are accurate enough with their passing. Fear of conceding seems to be the only concern with no thought to breaking down the opposition. As for working on set pieces …….

I watched about half of the match yesterday and again was bored so switched off. I just don't get why there's no passion or desire from the players. No clue from management and seemingly no ambition from the board.

Right now it seems the only ones who do actually give a fk are us fans. Sad situation, I thought we were going to thrive under the new regime. We fought long and hard to get the oystons out. (No, I'm definitely not comparing the 2 they're entirely different) Any football fan wants their team to succeed, but we also want to be entertained and that simply isn't happening.

We're not in a relegation battle, we're far from the worst in the league. But some of that I put down to luck rather than passion or desire from most of the players and management.

Something needs to change. End of season should be the start of a new plan. Way too late now to start sacking people and hoping that with a few games we can turn it back around. It simply isn't possible.

Onto 25/26. Let's hope for some entertaining football on display and a better season than we've had this time around.

As they say ‘Possession is nine tenths of the law “…….. Critchley’s law that doesn’t work for the team !

Not being argumentative but I don't think any team ever 'lets the opposition have possession'.
Many teams over the years happily set up to let the opposing team have possession, they don’t actively break shape to press and regain possession, they wait until the opposition give it away or play it out. They then hit on the counter attack. Chelsea under Mourhino were good at this against teams that were ‘better’, Leicester managed to win the Premier League doing it.

This is exactly what I've been thinking, we don't have wingers who can beat a man and cross it in the box or anyone even who can put a decent ball in.

With this wingback system as soon as the opposition works out to press our wingbacks we are lost what to do, we never look to pass inside to the midfield it just goes back to the centre halfs.

Derby just sat back and let us have the ball in the second half and Sean Barker on commentary said we lacked quality in the final third.

It's frustrating to watch and crazy that critch has sold a decent enough winger in dale and loaned out apter because they don't fit his system. The next manager will end up having to buy two or three new wingers.

I actually fell asleep through utter boredom rather than tiredness during the match. Serves me right for expecting something other than critchball!
