More Good News

Drove past this morning and saw it was still a rust bucket, some of the windows are a disgrace and could do with a good clean, well done for sorting. Mortys statue could do with a bit of weeding. Is it a sos diy, ready for selling.

I wasn't aware the volunteer force was still active atm ? Great that it is. Maybe some of them can enlighten us at to what's been going on around the ground ?
With PUMA being announced the club shop is bound to be given a refit / refurb - and we'll probably see some more corporate branding in and around the ground too. The clean up outside (whilst being needed regardless) must have something to do with that too.

Always on miserable form todayistheday.
There has been a lockdown if you care to remember and limited working.

The shop got a complete re-fit at the end of last season. I’d imagine they knew about this puma deal before then.

Should look good 👍🏻

It’s great seeing all this being done. I wonder if there’s plans to jazz up the exterior of the ground a bit?

Obviously it’s not a priority, but some tangerine or even grey cladding might look good.

Just drove past the ground and there's a cherrypicker with workmen cleaning up the cladding and removing stains from around air vents. I can't take all this in.

This is great and it needs a good scrub. Itll probably look a lot better after it. Its one of the things that you notice when arriving and looks a bit run down.

With this sorted and improvements inside too it'll feel different stadium to only a year or so ago.

Hope the stanchions are done eventually too as that looks poor the way the last owners left it to rot.

Good man Simon. Hopefully everyone gets down to support us whenever were allowed back.

I long used to think, if Oyston would have just spent peripheral amounts on keeping the place clean and attending to the rust he wouldn't have got quite the barracking he did. He could have kept some of the waverers on side. But no, he couldn't even bring himself to spend pennies that weren't being spent on him.

it's great and all that, but it's also common sense.

The place has to be smartened up so if, IF, it was ever for sale then it looks the part*

The neglect of the Oyscums was down to greed as we know. It wasn't normal as they knew back in 2011 they would not last.

To have a recognized kit manufacturer also makes sense. They will sell more merch.

*With clean cladding it will still looks drab imho. The ground needs a serious identity especially the outer façade.

Before lockdown, someone on here was mentioning a floodlight renewal?? The current ones are a little 3rd div dismal...

Getting the East sorted must be priority though.

I would be up for getting involved in some volunteering at the ground.I didnt even know that was still ongoing.Ive got some spare time on my days off and id actually find it quite rewarding.Just give me a weeder and a sweeping brush and stick me in the corner.

I've done some volunteering in the past but as an exile was never on the list.
Can someone put a link on here to whoever is organsing this currently please?

im sure with many not working we could get a large number of volunteers. I’d certainly be up for it.

Yeah, fair point, not sure what though?

The outside of the hotel looks good imo. The grey and tangerine cladding in particular.

Also, more signage has been put up at squires gate, along with a new gate. Looking good

The astro turf is also being replaced (running around the side of the pitch) Club are currently getting prices 👍🏻

Rust is going, PUMA are supplying our kit for the next three years and from the fans meeting in Feb the SMT said they were at the time looking to replace the windows/boiler system. Sadler is one of us ! Bloody love that fella 😍

I've just had some laid at mine and the chap who laid it told me he's just been to the ground to give them a price - he also showed me pictures of the pitch/stand he took today and where the current astro currently is 👍🏻

Great news.

Simon said he was going to sort the stadium out and is doing it.

The Covid 19 crisis would have been a perfect excuse to put things on hold.

However we have an owner who when he says he is going to do something he does it which is in deep contrast to the previous lot.

Well done Simon. Its appreciated,
