I actually didn't mind him coming back, didn't write anything negative, thought Sadlergave a convincing case at the time for why he should return and actually thought he did well for us first time round and was a good fit.
I now have major concerns about him as a manager because he's losing games we really shouldn't. How many teams hand on heart have out-played us this year? Derby and Peterborough are the only two I can really think of where I've thought the better team won. That rings massive alarm bells for me and actually the performances against Carlisle and Fleetwood at the end of the season when really he should have learned by all the previous mistakes were the games I have the most doubts.

I think he came back under a cloud and the probably for him is that it’s turned in to a severe depression - needs a few sunny intervals soon!

yep, just how i feel too. No problem with him coming back as I too thought he was the right fit but have been extremely disappointed with what i've seen this season and that's pretty much all down to him.

He’s missed a massive opportunity to win the fans back this season with a decent squad in a very very poor league. IMO the only team that outplayed us was Peterborough although l thought Northampton at home were decent, but from the very first friendly to last Saturday the formation has never suited the players and the stubbornness or lack of nouse from Critchley hindered our season without doubt.

Only lost that Northampton game cos of a terrible Husband back pass. They were nothing special.

But you didn’t have to be against us. Just put 10 men behind the ball cos we couldn’t break down teams that played like that. Northampton did their homework

They were getting in our faces all game knowing we'd fart about at the back overplaying in our own half so always felt like a matter of time before they got joy out of someone dropping a clanger having to play to instruction.

A second season of this and more teams should really be coming here with a plan to try and do the same.

The Northampton keeper time-wasted from the kick off, taking over a minute for every goal kick, they came for a draw and Hubby gifted them a winner after Rhodes's headed equaliser. That said, we were shite that night.

Derby just sat back and kept their shape, and caught us on the break. That was their plan and they succeeded, fair play.

Peterborough probably the best side, but at first they simply put balls into the acres of space behind Gabriel on their left. They also broke with speed and carried the ball well which is why I thought they were the best side at BR this season, although we won at their place of course.

As for Critch, I always prefer to move forward with new managers, but I didn't have a problem with his appointment because he had a L1 promotion on his CV. However, as the season went on, I was disappointed with his stubbornness with a 3-5-2 and his inability/unwillingness to change shape when we were struggling (esp away). Perhaps easy with hindsight but a nr 2 who could advise what was happening in front of them (and not on a tablet) would have helped Critch massively,so i'm more certain that he needs a knowledgeable nr 2 to answer the o/p.

As posted already, we can be quite predictable to play against

I wouldn't say Northampton came for a point. They were straight at us from kick off. They hit the bar with a shot from outside the box in the first minutes. And used every tactic they had to frustrate and to force our hand. We got the equaliser but it never felt possible to win it. You have some games where you know it's going to be struggle because you can't have it all your own way.

That's where the main frustration has been in the season. It takes two to tango but it is still a more forgiving league. And when we've conceded first it's mostly felt there's been no way back or ability to completely turn it around. No way of thinking or working around a situation if it doesn't follow whatever has been mapped out in advance. Set subs, set times and too many dead games. We're not perfect, obviously, a relegation always comes at a cost. But I don't think anyone can say hand on heart that it's been the absolute best use of the resources available.

I'm with Bayern. Thought Northampton looked a very decent team at our place and thoroughly deserved to win whether we gifted them a goal or not. Think they came here in a bit of form and it showed. At their place, yep they weren't that good.

I didn't want Critchley back as he humiliated the club by leaving for a lesser position albeit at a much bigger club. I did my level best to get behind the appalling Appleton and MM appointments but Critchley was one too many. Oh well we're stuck with him now until he QPR's us next season.

We set the tone first couple of minutes when Husband banged a 70 yard cross field ball into touch. Obvious we'd approached the game wrong from that moment, and it didn't change. They must have been boosted by that.

I still for the life of me can't see how NC needed a No 2 first time and it was thought not required this time. Very strange is being very polite.

A question. Had CC been his No 2 for most of the season, would we be in the play offs? No need for a MENSA certificate to answer that one.

Similar here and although I thought it was a mistake I don't recall making a song and dance about it.
But he lost me by constantly playing out of form/not good enough players out of position in a system that was clearly flawed away from home.

It worked at home but there were too many games that were a very hard watch and his total lack of a plan B and in-game management is indefensible at any level of the football pyramid.
