Most prolific striker for us per games

In recent decades? Thought DJ Campbell, checked and he got 30 goals in 66 games for us, not a bad return at all at nearly a goal every other game.
Anyone else spring to mind, based on games played per goal?

What you have to remember is before the offside rule was changed so that being level became ONSIDE it was harder then for players to score . Players like Hampson, Morty and Charnley did brilliant under the old rule to score so many.

Ellis Simms 10 goals in 22 games which is why so many were gutted when he signed for Sunderland.
Hopefully their new manager does not rate him and sends him back

Not sure on statistics but DJ is the best striker I've seen at the club in 40 years.
DJ was a fantastic striker and a very intelligent footballer.
When we lived in Blackpool, the guy who fixed our washer, had also fixed DJ's. He said he was a smashing, friendly guy, but not good with his washing. His broken machine was caused by him putting his football boot laces in to get them clean 🤣

Yep, I’m a mid-70’s born child so mainly got to experience the worse times supporting the club growing up. Andy Garner, Tony Ellis, Bamber were the noticeable strikers I remember.

Mainly against crap opposition Wiz. War time football was very hit and miss.
He was The goal machine, my best mates uncle and Ephraim 'Jock' carried on supporting the Pool. scored a hat trick against England in about 4 minutes if my memory serves me rightly.

Perhaps to people who have a two dimensional view of football, he is.
He'll be gone at the end of the season so our views on him won't matter but mine is one dimensional when it comes to him, he's not good enough to be a championship centre forward.

That prolific scorer Tony Diamond had a magnificent record scoring 1 in every 2 games for the Pool.......

Well in fact he only started 2 league games before he got homesick, it was a long way from Blackburn.

Not recent but according to Calleys book

Joe Lane got 67 in 99 between 1913-1920

The other one I remember searching and searching for info about him years ago,no joy.

H. Beare scored 118 in 180 games between 1920-1926

Anyone know more about him?

Weird how we've scored more goals and conceded less when he played last year and won more points when he played last year than didn't and literally the same again this year...

For a player apparently the problem, that looks remarkably like he's actually a solution to me.

But what do goals scored and conceded and points won matter compared to aesthetic qualities... 😜😜😜

Fwiw, for me, Gaz is a super sub now (he play Saturday though cos with fuck all creativity available, we won't get anything trying to feed nippy little lads)

He certainly had aesthetic qualities emerging from the sea the cheeky scampster

I get your point but that was last year and teams and squads are always evolving. I also think he has a role to play from the bench but as Appleton gets more of his own players we will see less and less of him.
