My first ever accident

Someone has just run into the back of me. They have dented the boot a bit but I can probably live with it. I have got the guys name and address and his reg. no.

Question is, my car is probably only worth about £800. If I claim on insurance would they write it off? And if I just took it to be repaired, could I get in touch with the bloke and ask him to pay, or could he just deny it?

As I said, this is my first ever accident so unsure what I should be doing.

I’ve done that before with an old car. Much easier than messing with insurance / no claims etc.

Doesn’t need to be written off unless it’s a structural integrity issue. You’ll be okay with a dent.
