I think his contract expired at the end of last month, there's still a fee payable because of his age though.

This says his contract started in July 2021: https://www.suttonunited.net/news/2021/july-2021/academy-star-signs-contract/, it doesn't say how long the contract is for, but 2 years is plausible for an 18 y/o in L2.

If he's out of contract, it would also explain why he's training here without having been officially transferred.
