I had forgotten about them until lately when I came across them while watching OGWT clips and I actually bought the Dancing the night away single back in the dayThe Motors! I don't know which came first but, weirdly, Forget About You was essentially the Grandstand theme.
6th post post page 1 ☝Surprised no mention of Airport from the Motors. Great track from 1978.
Wasn’t even a hit in U.K.!Cherry Bomb - The Runaways
It only reached 22 in the charts.Marc Cohn - Walking In Memphis
and produced the iconic ABC - Lexicon of LoveBuggles were fronted by Trevor Horn. He was a member of Yes and the producer of Frankie Goes to Hollywood and the Art of Noise.
Very good songThe Icicle Works-Love Is A Wonderful Colour
Ian McNabb is still regularly churning out some pretty good albums
It’s the “Pop“ Police again.Very good song
It’s the “Pop“ Police again.
Icicle works only just crept into top 15 and very few younger ones are familiar with it.
Not considered a one hit wonder!
I thought the criteria for it to be classed as a hit was for it to have reached the Top 40 (see post #186) and that's the only one they hadIt’s the “Pop“ Police again.

A record that fails to reach the top 10 is hardly a “wonder” hit.I thought the criteria for it to be classed as a hit was for it to have reached the Top 40 (see post #186) and that's the only one they had
I didn't realise there were any "younger ones" on here........
Decent song but only reached 15 in the charts.Just heard this on 6 Music
As I said, it depends on your definition of a one hit wonder. Billboard and The Official Chart Company define a hit as a record reaching the Top 40, so having only one Top 40 entry makes that act a one hit wonder. The Guinness Book of Hit Singles definition is a lot more strict, the record must have been a number 1 and there must have been no other entries in the Top 75, cutting out a good percentage of the records mentioned on this thread.A record that fails to reach the top 10 is hardly a “wonder” hit.
Some of the records on here I have hardly heard of and I have an excellent knowledge of pop.
Of course there are exceptions where a song matures and is timeless.
As mentioned, Frank Wilson ( do I love you) was not even released as a single until years later.
It definately warrants a one hit wonder!
what about Crazy World of Arthur Brown - Fire.
Yep, Iggy Pop also released Lust for Life and Real Wild Child from memory.I think many will take issue with Lou Reed and Iggy Pop being classed as one-hit-wonders dodgy
was gonna say the same TimEcho Beach - Martha and the Muffins
Bugg LP es also had a follow up to VKRS, called EllstreeBuggles were fronted by Trevor Horn. He was a member of Yes and the producer of Frankie Goes to Hollywood and the Art of Noise.
