Neil Critchley | Oxford United Reaction "I thought we were outstanding today.

Can't imagine how buzzing he is to see us going forward better, when we've been nothing but good defensively I bet that is his guilty, guilty pleasure!

What a time to bloody pull it off Critch, just before the business end of the season when no-one saw it coming. MASTERCLASS 😉

I really enjoy his interviews. None of the usual bollocks that managers spout and his care for his players shines through.

Good that. Only thing I'd say is NC keeps talking about pushing on to score that extra goal, but what can be done to help make things easier to make it happen and on a semi-regular basis? Is it just a case of more investment on players who are able to hit a cows arse with a banjo, or are the goals there with what we have but we're just not finding them?

Probably a bit of both but I'd say that some of the structured passing to work angles for attempts that whilst impressive, and it helps eat up time where the other team can't be in places where we could concede, there seems to be more focus on build up play rather than actually putting the ball in the net, to me. Always visualising the next pass but not the goal being scored.

Great that players are fully behind it since the Wimbledon away game, that seemed to be the moment where it could have gone either way. And we're not an identity less team that is devoid of a plan. But you can see where they do sort of overthink things for league one at times. Just have a shot lads if there's one on.

We had 17 shots in the game, 7 on target.

only Gillingham and Wigan matched us.

hull city had 1 shot on target
Think it's 54 attempts, 13 on target and three goals in the last three games as a slicer. Approach play is bang on but it's then what happens next.

Critchley has picked it out so it's obviously something he's feeling himself.
